I usually add a small bead between my trebel (size 12) and sinker on my tipup when fishin for crappie
red, yellows, white and oranges seem to be most effective
what do you all use?
-
Blue, white, red is a good combo, also greens, too ;D
-
If I use a bead or beads, I almost always stick with red. Looks like an eye or a blood spot, IMO.
-
just out of curiousity, do any of you guys ever use beads or spoons on tip-ups for northerns?

why not, I have beads on all my tipups, crappie, walleye, perch, pike, pikeral, it doesn't match. ;D

I use sizes from 1/4in to 1in red and white beads on my tipups-more bass on whites and more pickerel and crappie on red
-
How big are these beads that you all speak of?
-
Around pea sized is how I explain them...

hehehehe Actually camofish I've been getting good mileage out of those beads you sent me . I put them on with jigs and also with just a minnow dead sticked on the crappies . the red and white combo is my ticket so far . ;)
