Colorado Perchitos
« on: Jan 23, 2020, 08:31 PM »
Yeah, they aren't the biggest but keepers none-the-less.  Be very careful navigating the edges and open water.  I had the lake to myself today.  Went on dam ice (about 5-6"), cutting across the big point overland, and then to the isla (8 inches).  Just dinks and trout.   Then pressed on to the sand bar (8 inches).  Nada, headed back.  Finally found a school about 2 PM on the way back.  Then got these in 2 hours - and barely getting out in the nick of time.

Good luck to those going tomorrow.  Wish you were there today because the school kept moving around - and with a hand auger... ug, you know.

Nice job! I’ve been scared to check that out this year, miss talking to you at hockey games though!

Yeah, it was safer a couple of weeks ago.  Hope you found/find some bass ice, somewhere.  I have seen a few brave folks at your live minnow location as I drive by on the way to hockey.  A lot less injuries and controversy this year with no-check rec hockey -- too bad you aren't there.

That is awesome! It has been over 10 years since I fished that lake. Now that my son loves eating fish I may have to hoof my way back there sometime.

Nice haul Shoe! Are you going back up anytime soon? I am off work the next 3 days and plan to make a trip.

Today, lots of ice is melting around town.  I think that place might be done unless things turn cold for a couple of weeks.  Open water fishing perhaps.  I am going further north.

How was it today? I might head north, been going that way for weeks. Some open water fishing sounds pretty good right now with these super nice days.
