The curse of retirement.
« on: Jan 22, 2020, 10:35 AM »
Been a slow ice-fishing season on the front range.  Been trying some new and old places not much happening.

Actually got a couple 8-9s after this pic and lost a 10 at the hole. I kept these for the eyeballs. 3" of ice over 5' of water. :P

Bro went back later and got a 17" LMB.

The more frequently you fish, the higher the occurance of off days/bad bites! Plus theres just a lot of people here relative to the amount of fishing grounds.  Pretty soon were all gonna have to cross the northern border just to find fish!

I think it is just the curse of this winter. It has been very warm, less hardwater options to fish. Then some places that have ice, might not be safe in the depths I want to fish. The thing that frustrates me the most is there is a pretty good White Bass lake right by my house, and it has had safe ice most of the season, but for some stupid reason city of Longmont does not allow Ice Fishing there.
