Good Morning Everyone,
Clear and 43* this am, some rain expected to move in this afternoon, high of 58.

Steve...very sad news on the college students, so young....thoughts and prayers to the families and friends. As we understand it, our positions  will be permanently terminated down at the workplace. Unfortunate situation, and it makes very little sense $$ wise as we can pull off the jobs we do for far less than contractors costs, but it is what it is.
Marv...did the magic 8 ball say anything about Ben Gay last evening?  ;D  Have a safe day with the saws!
Dave...hope everything went well with the sale yesterday, congratulations Sir!!    :flex:

Running way behind this am, up way past my bedtime last evening...Doh! Will catch up this afternoon.... Cawfee’s on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

               Good morning Eddie, ER's,
It's 39* and clear here on my hill. ::)
Eddie.......I think the state has a policy that they have to hire a certain per cent of outside contractors to work.
Marv........Good luck up at your sisters today.
Steve.......My #2 and #3 son's work for a bridge company and they don't get a two week notice for layoffs. In mist cases the workers
               know when it's coming.
Dave........Well did you sign the bottom line and the machine is yours? ???
Wally........I think I can smell something from the oven. I bet the grandkids like seeing your visit.
H2l...........I think your reaction is a common one, my neighbor has the same thing going after his second shot.
Spitzo.......That must have been some wind to keep you up.
Fish..........I hope you got the ridge cap on the green house, so you can get some fish time this weekend. :flex:
I have a dentist appointment this morning, just a cleaning, other than that another slow day.
I hope everyone has a good Wednesday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

39* this morning.
WS, sounds like a "full" day, I'm sore just reading it.
Eddie, hope the letter hits home with someone.
Mr. C, Scout seems to keep the geese on their toes. She will set on the beach and the geese will be only 5/6 feet out in the lake. If the geese come up toward the yard and we let Scout out she will run them back into the lake.

Woke up early this morning, seems I had an appt. yesterday with my Prim. Care Dr. 1st time I have seen him in a couple years. I do see my heart doctor twice a year and have blood work before each of those. Well my PC has been bugging me, plus the wife said I should go and get the physical, so yesterday was the day.
First I get checked in and I am asked questions: how do you feel today? Do you feel depressed? Have you thought about harming yourself?  It was early in the morning so I answer them. She then told me to go into the waiting room and someone would be in to take my vitals. Nurse comes in asked all those questions again PLUS she asked if I had lost HOPE.

So, I woke up early this morning and have the answers to their questions:
DEPRESSED: yes, I haven't seen a buck in the woods in 2 hunting seasons.
HURTING MYSELF: well I wasn't happy the other night when I missed a FIVE pin while bowling.
HOPE: Well I HOPE the walleyes are hitting better this year than last.

On top of all that the Dr. said, well as you get older we don't do a lot testing that we use to do. I got to thinking about that also, so that means when a car gets over 100,000 I don't have to do anything to it? Only good thing about the appt, NO CHARGE, wait a minute, my time is worth something.

Have a good day and stay well...h2l

Good morning Eddie, IW! Good morning everyone

The winds are lighter today at about 20mph, but the temps are cooler at 24. The guessers are claiming a string of 70's starting around Friday.

Eddie..... I asked the Magic 8-Ball if rum would be better than Ben Gay. It said " It is certain" ???

IW.... Hope the cleaning goes well

WW.... When will we get some cookie porn ???

I am heading back for round 2 in a couple hours. I discovered an extra log yesterday that had been buried in the snow, it kind of made me happy and sad at the same time :roflmao:

Hope you all have a good day  Stay safe and stay healthy.

H2L gotta watch those doctors, Should hit about 50 today then 80 on Sunday followed by 4 more days of 80.

went out and plugged in my onboard chargers on my boat.  will see if they are topped off later this afternoon.  Still have some snow drifts in north side areas.  Debating if trying to do any garden things.  Rather doubt it with travel plans heading my list.

whipped up some beef stew, need to parcel out and freeze some for quick meals.

Eddie time to get in line for unemployment ?  Believe I would.

Still a glitch in paperwork for the job sight.  Beginning to think its too much brain damage, and cut them loose.

More coffee please.

Steve, what hours you working now ?

H2l.........It seem that's the normal procedure at the Dr.'s these days.   I believe it's a way to find out if anyone is going

Wally......That' would be tempting to want to cast a line in to those fish. :nono:
Marv.......It's amazing how logs get hidden under the snow and don't know until it melts.
OS..........Good luck with your Carpal Tunnel surgery, I had it done, it was a walk in the park.

Good Morning Jeff, Wally, Morning Everyone,
Welcome to April!  Rain/snow mix here this am with wind, 34*  high of 38 today.

Jeff...safe travels this am, hope all goes well with your appointment!   Still keeping the fingers crossed for a positive response from the Lieutenant Governor, but certainly have my doubts about that, lol.
OS...best wishes sent your way for April 7th, hope it’s a quick fix and recovery Sir!
Bud...that Mile High weather is always full of surprises...break out the shorts but don’t put the winter gear away just yet!  ;D
Spitz...hope your day went well yesterday.   Looks like some of your weather hitting here tonight...suppose to drop down to 19*.  :cookoo:
Wally...awesome pictures, those walleyes are stacked right up!     My youngest son drove through your town real early this am, he’s casting for steelheads right now up on the Salmon River...said it was snowing up there to. Easter Bunny mix looks yummy!!!
Marv...hope all went well yesterday with the saw work! Wondering if that Magic 8 Ball said to repeat the Rum therapy again last evening??  ;D Have a great day!
H2...have to scratch your head sometimes getting hit with those types of questions, seems to be the norm now...great answers!!  :roflmao:   Maybe that got the Dr. scratching his head, lol.

Took the day off today, things are slow down at the workplace anyway and I have a visit scheduled this afternoon to finally see my Mom...                 Considered getting out wetting a line this morning on the trout stream, opening day here today, but didn’t feel up to it with this crappy weather. Favorable weather on the way and the streams are running a bit high and dirty at the moment.
Temps dropped enough that it’s all snow right now...everything is turning white again.  :woot:  Cawfee’s on...anybody want scrambled eggs and bacon?   ;D
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

35* light rain with some mixed "cotton balls" of snow.
WW, have a good trip to MA.
Eddie, great news on getting to visit with your MOM.
Long day yesterday, wife wanted to go shopping for Easter dinner. She can't drive yet so I took her. Right after we got into Price Chopper she started to not feel very good. Said she wanted to go to the ER, where she spent almost 9 hours. After just about every test and scan that I think they have, they told her "she might have a small blood clot" and sent her home with blood thinners. The ER doctor did talk to the DR in NYC that did her heart valve replacement last week. Once her Lung Dr. finds out this morning, I can see a trip to the city coming up. Wife is feeling OK this morning.
Have a good day and be well....h2l

Good morning rain started last night and will continue through out today currently in the low forties heading to a high of forty nine.  I see NY has now legalized Marijuana for recreational use will take a few years for all parts of the bill to take affect strange part is you can now have up to 3 ounces for your usage but currently the sale of marijuana is still illegal. leaves me shaking my head. I assume my downstairs neighbor will have some celebration joints this weekend. In fishing news reminder for my fellow NY. anglers there are new rules with regards to river/stream fishing for trout be sure to review them on the DEC website and if you still have questions contact regional office for your area.
Eddie please give your mom Easter greetings from the 9:45 group and continued good health to her and fellow residents and staff at her facility. May your son have a good day pursuing the steel head. Sorry to hear the layoff will be permanent I thought they would just shut you down for part of the year.
Ice Wanderer I have to review my contract might be some agreement between my employer and the union with regards how much advance notice of layoffs must be given I agree employees generaly know when a layoff is likely to take place. May your diabetic check up show no problems.
Hunts2long may your wife have no more health scares and get to spend Easter at home. I think there is a concern about mental health now as this pandemic continues so that is why your were asked those questions. It would be nice if nurses/doctors looked at and read your replies to question sheet  filled out before you got to see them and not repeat the same questions. I hope Scout never gets attacked by any of the geese protecting their young years back I was fishing with a friend at this time of year and got to watch on male chase other geese and after our boat when we got to close to his mate's nest.
Whopper Stopper hope all went well with the tree work at your sister's.
Wallyworld think you will get an extra hug from your DIL when she sees the Easter Bunny/Reindeer mix . Have a good time with your family and a safe trip. Thank you for the walleye and turkey photos. May you not receive to many inches of snow and your snowblower not be  already put away in your barn if it is needed for clean up.
SpitzoMT glad you had a slow day at work after the recent  busy days.
IFF have a good day at work good to see the paper work issues have been resolved. Enjoy the coming warmer weather while it lasts. I work mostly overnight that can change quickly and often during this pandemic .
OldSailor agree the weather has been up and down lately. Best to you on April 7TH with the hand surgery . may your pre-operation Covid test come back negative.

To all seeing snow today may the inches left on the ground be a low number. Best to all fishing. stay safe.

Damn H2L!! Hope the Mrs' is feeling better today.

Cloudy and 21F with 20 mph winds here today.
Expecting a few inches of snow by this time tomorrow.

Took a vacation day today so I have 5 days off with the long weekend.
Been to the cabin already with the last load of flooring and have a load of plywood on the trailer.
Waiting for buddy to free up time to meet me at his shop to load up the insulation blower before heading to the cabin until Monday afternoon.

Just got the insurance quote for my new toy. $850 /yr for full coverage.
Not too bad for a $55,000 SxS. Costs less than my 16 year old Honda Pilot to insure.

Good evening everyone

It started out frosty but the sun turned things to mud by noon.

h2l....Best wishes to your wife, sorry to read about her health scares.

Eddie.... Hope you had a good visit with your Mom

WW....Dang it to heck.......YUM!

Day 3 of splitting is in the books. My b-i-l thought it would be a big help to doze all the trees together then give it a roll for good measure. What a mess and slow process trying to pick and drag the pile apart with my 4-wheeler. Tomorrow he is going to bring the tractor out and spread the remaining tops apart as they were. Hopefully, I will be able to finish cracking what's left. Looking at the muddy conditions it will probably be a couple weeks before I can start hauling.

My best guess is I will be close to 4 full cords by the time I am done.

Hope everyone has a good night  Stay safe and keep healthy.

               WS

Dave here is the fancy powered splitter thing. The pan that the large round is on tips down to roll the blocks on and then lifts it up to roll on the Beam. It has an old Brigs 10 horse on it and a 24-ton ram. In it's day it was quit the machine, but 40+ years later it's a little rusted and beat up, kind of like me Lol

Good evening the rain ended here around mid day and sun was out for a few hours this afternoon.
Wallyworld the baked goods look great I'm sure they will be enjoyed during your visit.
Drifter good to read the cost of insurance for the side by side is not to high per year. Have a good time at the cabin may you finish getting the place insulated.
Whopper Stopper thanks for the photos your Sister's property must have some good ruts from the ground being soft and  using the 4 wheeler to pull apart the piles made by your BIl. Hopefully he will remember to consult with you  on any future tree work before taking actions he thinks will help you with the work. I think we have all gone through similar at our respective work places or doing things with friends and family. ;D
Hunts2long may you wife be doing better hope there were no more health scares today.
Eddie may your visit with your mom have been a good one sure she was happy to have physical contact with you once again after a year.

May everyone have a good and safe night.

Got handed another twist, went to work for 3 hours then they closed the store, and will be closed tomorrow as well so all of that crew can go get a rapid covid test, at least they paid me to take my boat out for 3 hours, first trip to the water, sonar didn't want to work but on the GPS side  got to troll with the new electric worked as it should, used the big motor in forward only till it ran out of gas.  They don't know it yet but I will be fishing on there dime tomorrow  ;D

Good Friday Morning Everyone,
Feels a bit more like winter than Spring here this morning...snow flurries and 18* with NW winds 10-20mph, high of freezing today.

Bud...getting paid to fish?? Guess congratulations are in order...believe that puts you in the Professional Fisherman’s category!!   ;D
Best of luck today, hope you slam them!!
Steve...physical contact was not really allowed, but I did hold on to her arm and both my sister and I got close enough to get a picture with her. Visitation was limited to 1hr., but, it sure was a wonderful 1hr.
Marv...awesome job on the wood project, you sure had your work cut out for you on that one..well done!!
Dave...can sense through your post you’re pretty excited and ready to get things done at the cabin! Best wishes and we’ll standing by anxiously awaiting to see your progress..be safe!   :flex:
Wally...put me down for 2 dozen of the cookies, better make it 3, and a couple pies please!     Excellent job on the baked goods, safe travels to Mass and a wonderful time with the family and grandchildren!!
H2...wow, what a scary time with your wife! Thoughts and prayers are with her this morning, hope she is feeling better today.
Jeff...if this weather sticks around for awhile Lake George might freeze up again!   ;D

Thank you all for the kind words and support for my visit yesterday, truly appreciated!   Although we weren’t able to have physical contact and the time limit was minimal, it was still very special and a year overdue just to be able to be in her presence. Don’t know the words to describe it, but I believe you know what I can’t say. Hopefully soon things will change with the restrictions.
Haven’t heard anything from the Lieutenant Governor yet on the letter, but we did have several copies of it made. Today several Senators and Assemblymen will be the recipients of a last ditch effort to try and save our department. Again, we’re not holding our breath, but we’ve got nothing to lose trying to have our voices heard. Will keep you posted....Cawfee’s on!
Have a great day all, be safe, best of luck to those fishing!

I had a good visit at the "VA" yesterday, it was a teleconference with the diabetic nurse. Next time I will drive to Albany for a face to face.
I have Direct TV/ AT&T  coming to do an up grade this morning, I'm going wireless and adding service to the guest room.
I hope everyone has a good Good Friday either at work or out. Stay Safe and Healthy.

20* and light snow.
The wife is feeling better. She got the call from her NYC doctor at 9am yesterday. They seemed to think that what they did up here was OK. They did want all the results of the test that were done sent down to NYC. Thanks for the thoughts and prayers.
WW, the pie looks great. Have a good trip.
Eddie, had to be a great visit after all this time.
WS, nice pile of firewood.
IFF, fishing on their dime is a "win win deal".
Drifter, not bad on the coverage for the S X S. Extra day is always nice, take it easy.
Hope everyone has a good day and be well...h2l

Good Morning ER's hope all are well. Eddie nice you got to see your Mother. WS nice pile O wood. Bud fishing on the job again Nice. There is another Marina near the one we stopped at when you stopped in. I could check that place out if you need me to; it has been there forever. Dave hope your new toy gives you years of help out there. To all:   found some kids traction ( winter tracks ) if anyone has a youngster who could use them.

Good afternoon everyone

Today I finally wrapped up the splitting portion of my wood project.
My s-i-l helped run the handle and I kept the table loaded.

Once the sun poked out everything turned to snot. I told them to let me know once things dry out and I will start hauling it home.

For the rest of the day.......

                 It's Miller Time

Hope you all have a good evening  Stay safe and stay healthy.
