Looking for Perch For Masters Degree
« on: Feb 21, 2018, 11:47 AM »
Hello,

My name is Bailey Duxbury and I am perusing my Masters Degree out of Michigan Tech. I am doing research on Ecotoxicology, and trying to see how things like Mercury, and Persistent Organic Pollutants  (POP's) change in yellow perch throughout the span of the year. At the same time I will be looking at diet content, growth rates, and age structure of the population along with several other factors.

I am looking for a good lake to conduct my research on. During the winter the best way for us to collect fish is though ice fishing, I have been fishing at Lake Gogebic but the perch fishing has been quite slow. Any advice on other bodies of water that I should try for consistent perch?  If Gogebic is my best bet would anyone be willing to share some spots to go to to catch Perch though the ice?

Thank you very much.
