South Dakota northern
« on: Feb 06, 2017, 07:29 PM »
Heading up towards Poinsett, Dry 2 this weekend with my son and nephen to chase northerns. I have never specifically targeted northerns before. Looking for some pointers on depths, weeds, bait, etc. I have the tip ups and equipment just looking for a little more info. Thanks guys.  ;D

Perch fishing at dry lake 2 I caught 2 of them and talked to other guys that caught them also. I don't know how to target them but thought to share that I've heard that's there is lots of northers there. Good luck

I haven't been there for several years now, but, we did our best in 3-6' of water with a smelt and minnow on one barb of the treble hook. 16 of us fishing and put 56 on the ice in one day. 3-6lbs

Thanks guys just watched weather up there for saturday, sounds like rain and freezing rain. Might suck but better than sitting in the house.
