Title: Ice pack build out
Post by: Trollingfortacos on Aug 11, 2022, 11:09 PM
Ive got a hook 7 that im looking to use this year as an ice fishing rig. The ice pack from lowrance is listed on their website for $299. Seems a bit steep, has anyone else done a custom ice pack build that would save me some $ or is it worth paying the $300? There might be some older posts on this subject but I'm having a hard time finding them.
Cheers

Can you just get a gimbal bracket for the Hook7 and mount that to a Genz blue box? That might be the lowest cost option.

Lots of people are 3D printing ice packs now, price is still pretty high on those for what they are.

May build a base and store it in the Clam Flasher bag (9:20 mark)...some folks build the base out of plastic cutting boards

Just get a battery and a plastic ammo box. Probably need an ice ducer too.
