I've spent the last week working on boats. I repaired the 10 foot styro-filled bass boat my BIL tried to kill by pitching it off his truck on the loop road...fiberglassed the split in the stern. This boat easily accomodates 2 average size men and fits pretty good into the bed of my pickup...just about stays in there all summer, I see a lake I like, out she comes, weighs only 85 pounds. I also did some repairs on an aluminum hull I bought a couple years ago and left settin' over in Boulder, painted the inside camo, put new board seats and painted em green marine poly 2x...double checked all boat #'s fer current registration etc...broke down the carburetor on my Nissan 2.5 and cleaned it, stuck it all back together...tha's about it. Stopped short of sticking the water hoses back on the 130Hp Chevy inboard...Lookin' for a safe spot to place my 2 minnow traps. The GPS finally got here today, I'll haveta figger that out and I'll be ready to lock that river channel in at Boysen...jus need some open water. Yep, I miss the chitter-chatter, having WY IS withdrawal, but I think it's just gonna be a few of us staying in touch...honey-do's start, it'll be even less, laters brudders, KIT, LT

...and this is one of the places I'll be taking Kermit...Frye Lake...then Louis Lake, then Christina Lake, then Gustave, then Fiddlers...and I bought my Res Tag this am and plan on hitting Bull Lake fer Lakers. Wheeeeee! But ya know what, there's nothin' that compares to pulling one through a hole in the ice!  ;D

Those are some great arrow heads and bones, I have found a few arrow heads around whiskey gap in the Ferris Mts. but none as nice as the ones youve found. I did find a place out west of Worland once, after a rain storm one day I found snail shells all over the ground, at first I thought they were just that snail shells I finally picked one up and all of them were petrafide I only picked up a couple but there were allot of them laying around that spot.

Thanks Wyohunter

Wyoming is a gold mine for fossils and artifacts. Over around Worland you can find petrified sharks teeth also. Guess some of it, used to be sea-bed!
For every rock on that glove, I have a half dozen....broke pieces of an arrowhead. Tis very tough to find a good one, but when you do-it's worth the effort IMO.
I have probably one of the rarest artifacts in north america. It's a section of mammoth ivory with a bunch of stuff carved on it. The kicker is.....it petrified after the carvings. It's locked-up, but I'm gonna retrieve to get some pic's of it sometime soon!

Mostly 25-06 and 22-250(savage 110's).  .22's(marlin, rugers) if the dogs haven't been shoot at a lot.  How bout you, what do you shoot?

Honey and I took a long hike today up Sinks Canyon to the falls with new GPS in hand. Cool, takes you right back to the pickup...although we actually knew the way. Can't wait till hardwater, although the old river bed will be locked in long before then.  ;D

Set out one morning to hunt this big ridge for arrowheads, it had standing rock formations on top and flat ground as well. I just knew it would be good rock-hunting, and there was chips and a few fire pits. But 4 hours ans 1 1/2 miles later, I left with one thumb scraper and 3 squaw stones.....dehydrated and disapointed!
I was done rock hunting, jumped in the ol dodge and wound my way down. Well I get to the small creek below that ridge. Crossed and noticed what looked like a fire pit that had been knicked with the blade, last time they reworked it. What the hell might as well look, found a couple more fire pits and part of a knife. Not much though so I walked up the bottom of the creek a little ways. Looked over about 10 steps away and see this piece of bone, halfway down the 4ft bank. Bone is everywhere.....but I noticed it was tapered and the sides looked straight...hhmmmm?
Walked over and picked it up, Wow it's heavy...must be petrified

And then I started looking at it......Holy sheeite!! Talk about a rush.....I could not believe it! I mean I was high!.......and then I found this......WOW!

These are some hurry pic's, but I'm gonna try to get some good ones....it's gonna take some trial and error.

Like I said it's mammoth ivory and the indians carved stuff on it, and since that it has petrified. Took it to a guy that authenticates artifacts for a living. He thinks it was carved in the Clovis-period, that would make it only the second example of any kind of writing or art that old in north america! I feel like an a.ss, cause it sounds like I'm bragging.....but this is what I've been told.

Here's a couple more, dang it's hard to try and photograph this piece(pictures do it no justice) Couple years ago I got some good ones, took it to gebo and had it set on some chest high rocks. Photo'd it using the light from a red sunset, they where really good pic's and it made me think of how them indians used to look at it. Gonna try and go do that again, this time I will have the pic's forever.
