Don't let your girlfriend drill the holes. Lol
« on: Apr 05, 2014, 01:24 PM »

Went out one last time today at lakeview pond.. Drilled a few holes and not much action... So my gf decided to drill another hole :).  My buddy rigged my auger up so it would adapt to a drill, only downside Is u gotta hold a rope when it busts through or u loose the auger. Just as she was drilling I went over to help her and ... Kerplunk... Down goes the auger( she was holding the rope it just slipped )4 feet down sticking straight up. We tried for about a half hour with some hooks and our 4 lb test to pull it out.. My buddy even stuck his arm down in.No luck. Guess I was looking for a reason to buy a nihls anyways. All in all we only caught a few small fish .. But we all got a good laugh :)

Mark the spot and go back out and retrieve it using a big treble hook and heavy line.

Had a blast! still laughing about the sandy creek diner... food was great and people were very inviting, I hope the nils makes me wish this happened sooner!
U think that would have stopped ole G.W. From crossing the Delaware ???

Sounds like you all may consider carrying a shop magnet in the vehicle from now on.  Don't need to bring it on the ice but keeping in the vehicle would come in handy and offer piece of mind.

Of the three methods of gaining wisdom, experience is the most bitter but often the one we heed the most.  That's why I carry a pipe wrench in the truck now during ice season.

That's too bad. On the other hand, your lady goes out with you. Appreciate that! My wife won't go out with me. I wish she would.
