State of the art? I think the Jason Mitchell is about as state of the art they can get.  It's got a minnow bucket and comes with lights! ha.  I don't know what else more you can add besides cup holders or something.

For 119 bucks on that teardrop I think I will pass. I like that they dropped the price on the 241 and the 6061

I was on a bus and just happened to be sitting on a news paper. This guy came up and asked. "Are you reading that ?"
I said  yes, stood up, turned the page and sat back down.

I think it's awesome.  But for that kind of cash I want to actually hold it in my hand and feel what it's like.  After last years experience with the 6061 though by the times I get my hands on it, it will most likely be sold out.

Nice looking reel.  Getting to be quite a selection of in-line reels to choose from.  ;D  All good.

The problem I see with these inline reels they are coming out with is that they are too big. The last thing I want to hang on to a nice super light super sensitive bluegill rod is a behemoth of a reel. You don't need more than 100yds of line and 100yds of 1 or 2lb hardly takes up room on the spool.

ION $225

Klar Ullforte thermals. Items can be purchased all the way up to 800grams!!!
Not cheap.  But I consider a long term investment.  Allso each item is hand made and has a label with the name on it of the person who made it!
* I cant wait to try these out!!!

i have heard rumor that Clam has discontinued the JM 1 man and will be coming out with a couple of new one man shelters this year but as of right now I cannot find any information on them.  I have heard their "top of the line" one man will run a guy roughly $600 but I cannot confirm nor deny that.  Hopefully they will come out with some info soon, I have some money that I need to spend haha.

I have a 6061 mounted to a 28" med wicked rod that I pounded last year and it held up great caught lots of eyes and perch on it so I will have another set up just like it, far as the new tear drop goes IMO if you fish out side it may have an ice build up problem , a closed face reel in the winter ?  time will tell , and far as the JM1 man I had one warm seat was comfy , and I like the lighting , the minnow bucket was to small and in the way and I can pack more in my Kenai and the tub is also not as heavy either , but I am old and a little fussy

I was cruising through the Fleet Farm website and it looks like a lot of the Clam tackle is updated in case anybody is interested.  Looks like they will be selling Maki-Plastics with the Clam name and a whole line of jigs.

Is it bad that I'm starting to get the itch to get on ice already?

well I just looked at the new line up for 13 and I think it looks great , changed my mind on the tear drop i had there line up in my paws I think some of you will like it , far as the 6061 goes you won't be able to switch from right to left you will have it left or right , and there has been 17 changes to the reel since last year all internal far as i could tell and some rod changes and a spinning reel with a longer stem to , and saw the new striker float suits , now the inseams are adjustable to accommodate different length's , I hope to be an owner of one this winter I'm over due for a new suit , they now come in several models and colors

I knew you were going to like the 13 stuff.  I think I may get another 6061 as well as the teardrops.  Their rods look good too.
As far as the suit - I may be up for one too, but I think you need to keep them out of the lake for the performance to keep up.  ::)
