Got my rod back on Friday. They just removed some of the rod finish, redid the lettering and put finish over it. I put a dot on the rod to see if they replace the whole deal. Looks as it should now. Thorne reimbursed me for the shipping. Overall I am glad I sent it back.

Now to get the reel made for it. Planning on machining my own out of aluminum.
