Was listening to Copper Canteen by James McMurty and appreciate the section on ice fishing (and hunting). Aside from that one song and some of the Kevin Kling stories (e.g. the Ballad of Ron Huber) I don't know any other songs specific to ice fishing.

Does anyone else have some songs, of any variety, that are worth a listen?

As a quick aside the last time I was out with the guys I had an mp3 player with me that I take on road trips with the entire family and as a result there is an eclectic music selection. The only fish we caught was when one of the kids songs from the Trolls soundtrack was on...

It's also definitely the case that having some quiet tunes on after dark makes the fishing more enjoyable.

"A wind from the north gusts in and gently shoves your already frigid cheek, urging ya to feel just a little more alive then you did inside by the wood stove. You've got one on, but ya get it up to that little hole in the ice and it shakes and warbles free, forcing you to deglove yourself and take a desperate hand plunge into the frothy Badger water, if only to briefly connect with one of those fine aquatic dancers, the ever elusive Crappie. Again, you're reminded that you're so freaking alive. Chilly, but alive. And then, whoomp schloop crash kaboom, on that ass you fall, a product of last nights rain snow combination upon the already 12 Inch or more frozen lake bed. And you're reminded of life's fragility by way of a bum bruise, like a hangover after a couple too many "samples" at the local brewery. But alas, you're alive, quite alive, really so alive, and it's Winter in Wisconsin. Amen, old pal."
