The ice looked awful dirty around the old 422 launch. Looked like a lot of run off from the warm/rain last week. Anyone been out there since? Wondering what the ice looked like.

Fished the Burton Road launch area on Monday. 8 -10 inches of ice from shoreline out. Lots of tip-ups from daybreak until 2:00 without a single flag. Couldn't even get a dink to take a look.

Fished shannon run today not many flags, but pan fishing was decent. Fished from 7:30 till 4:30 caught probably 40 total only a hand full of keepers. Seemed to come and go in waves.

fished Muddy Creek from 7:00 to 2:00, along with a couple of dozen others, and saw very few fish caught on tip ups. Very slow. Can't blame this on the full moon...

Fished upper 528 yesterday from 10:00am til 3:00pm. Was surprised at the constant bite on the jigging rods for that time of day. Mostly small but consistant. Not one bite on tip ups with minnows and shiners but a few people around me pulled in a couple northerns on tip ups. Never saw so many people on the ice. Especially the Shannon finger. What a beautiful day an the hard water. 4" of crusty snow on top of 10" of ice.

Lol negative every hole is the honey hole.    Are you sure you were beside me.  Also fished this afternoon in another honey hole and managed a nice mess of crappie and good eater size gills.  lost a slob dog of a crappy at the hole.   Thought it was a bass until I seen it and it hit the edge of the hole and pop.

Fished McDaniels today till dark. One perch jigging and nothing on tipups. Saw none else catch any either.  Did better above 528 bridge yesterday but not what i would have liked to see.   Mix of gills and perch...nothing eating size unless you like  fish chips not fillets...

Probably was then. Went out there for a little before heading to the store.  The hole we set up turned on right before we left.  I’m headed to fish a deep water honey hole tomorrow that’s virgin and always produces.

Dont make sense.... but I go fish where I want to fish.  When I don’t have a ton of time I fish more known areas. I rarely say locations and there’s plenty of reason behind it and I haven’t for a few years now. it does take some skills to run a jig, read what’s going on, and slay the slabs consistently... but fished some untouched honey hole areas today ice was still holding up fine.   Iced a bunch of dink gills with a few keeper gills. 2 dink perch. Quite a few dink crappy with a few keepers in the mix, and a  17” largemouth.  On plastics and forage minnow.

Out here now. Still ok. Some holes opening. Stay away from any inlets and should be ok. One more rain without a freeze and you won’t see me out again.

Just ran into a soft spot of only 4”. Be careful if your headed out. It was enough to send me walking back to the car. I am by myself and didn’t need to chance it. The rest was all over 6 of good ice with white ice on top. Just stay away from inlets as I am sure they are getting soft.

Be safe.
