Jiffy recommends holding the throttle half open when starting. I'm not a real strong guy, but find it difficult to hold it half way, and still pull the pull chord. I got a zip tie, and put it on the throttle lever to compress it half way. This way I can grip the handle firmly with one hand, and pull with the other. When it starts, I just slide the zip tie off! Works like a charms, and I'm not worried of ripping the throttle off when trying to start it now.
