Eaglet Lake

Hey boys I'm headin out to Eaglet lake on sunday sometime between 8 and noon. I'll be in the usual spot out by the hut. Does anyone know what the ice is like out there after all this warm weather?? I figure it's still fine but my buddy's worried that the inflow creek on the east end might have weakened the ice. Any ideas? I'll post when I get the pics

PGKris, me and Whiskey were out there on Thursday. The good news is theres plenty of ice, if you don't mind wading through a foot of water around the edges, for 15-20ft, untill you reach the good ice. You'll be in about 5 inches of water on the ice. It's probably worse now. If you have any rubber boots bring them. If I were you I'd try the morning. We tried the evening and the fishing was very slow. Let us know how you make out.

Yeeesssssss about that. I talked to Whiskey last night at work and he informed me of the same thing. My buddies bailed on me after I told them (stupid fair weather fishermen) so it turns out I'll be heading out to Eena instead. I don't feel like driving all the way out there to slosh through water. I'll take my chances that Eena is good. Usually good ice out there. Thanks for the tip though. We'll wait till she cools off then head out there.

Sometimes I amaze even myself. No pics, I didn't have a digital camera but man what a day. I got there bout 8:30am and I left by noon. I got 8 solid fatties. Nothin to write home about, biggest maybe pushed 2 pounds. All aroung 13 or 14 inches but nice and fat. Kept 2 for grandpa. First 45 mins was real slow not much happenin but man it got hot after that. I must have missed like 10 or 15 good hits cause I was still gettin used to my brand new rod.
The ice was kinda soggy round the edges but there was a good 14 inches on the lake with no water. Couldn't ask for better.
I still don't figure how that lake got winter killed??
I've had way better fishin out there than last year. 8 fish is more than last year's total take from there! Nothin huge I was hoping for another 3 or 4 pounder but not today I guess.
Good luck out there
