Oh yes the passing of a year did nothing to diminish the power of the force within Darth......I sat back and watched him catch big fish after fish right beside me using my gear to boot. I caught some but he caught most....and many were released as well. Fish and chips was awesome last night...burp.
All fish were over 5 lbs with 2 being 8 and one 9.5....what a day.

I was surprised to find that about half of the big ones were males and all were STUFFED full of fish....I thought we were capitalizing on the burbot "orgy balls" but turns out they were more interested in eating. 8)

wow, ya those ling are fat- must have 2 fish minimum in their bellies! Looks like a fun day out on the ice!!

Yeah they had on average about a dozen each and one had about a 10 inch whitefish in him....makes me wonder if they would now stop feeding or not as it would seem logical yet they were still biting....hmmm, maybe they were just annoyed by the rig....who knows.

I hope that was a "funny" comment as I was wondering if somebody would comment because I threw them all into the picture with Uncle.....you'd have to do a lot better to catch me on the regs as I know them better than most.

Oh btw just because i know the limit of the lake i live on means nothing anywhere else as you can only catch one here on my lake as it WAS OVER FISHED. so if i was using that theory, you guys must of had like 15 people with you for that many fish. So, keep it to a dull roar, i was only asking.

That is correct. But in My opinion if the fish there are numbered so low the should just close it.

Thanks TGF and "BTW"....the reason I keep so many that we catch is that my son is allergic to red meat which unfortunately also includes wild meat.....buy them in a store.....keep your legal limit....still an output to the system....period. Things rarely get wasted, so if anybody would like to discuss this further I'm sure that I could care less in the future as well other than just being annoyed at your lack of info and shortsightedness.

Nice fish, I catch these once in a while in ny and throw them back. A lot of people just leave them on the ice. I hear they are good eating. How do you clean them? Do they fille? I would like to try one next time I catch one.

1. cut the skin only around the head just under the fins.....
2. pull skin of like a tube sock with pliers
3. fillet a narrow tube off above the ribs like the backstraps of an animal
4. fillet whole tail portion ( last 1/3 of fish )
5. Deep fry in tempura or beer batter or wrap with bacon like scallops

One had a whitefish that was at least 10 inches long. Heading for lakers tommorrow with Fishmann, Darth and my son Brady.....hopefully the force is still strong within Walter

burbot buster caught a ling once which had about a 12-15 inch, half digested kokanee in its stomach and half sticking out of its mouth....
