Went fishing 3 times and skunked 3 times. Lakes around here are covered in 20 inches of snow and 5 inches of water hidden inside. Sucks if you stop. Sledding is like mountain climbing. Ski's are 15 inches higher than the end of the track. Hope everyone else has it better.
Nice Lake Trout guys.

Shes looking pretty ugly out there rite now, but the fish are growing big under all that ice and white stuff :icefish:

Ian, Dukes those fish could be 30 years old. And also lay 27000 eggs.
-
Ah man that’s a nice one as well, it’s crazy to think that those fish could be 3 years older then me lol

Ya who knows the real age of them but for sure old fish. Quick pix and back down the hole, they both swam off strong.
Wish we were able to get into the lake rite now, has snowed so much lately access would be tuff.. Need some big snowmobiles to break a trail into or else will have to wait, hopefully soon..

Yeah awesome fish guys. I went on a adventure trip as well but never had the luck you did. It took 2 days to get into the lake and the last day almost had to stay the night on the lake because of the 8 to 10 inches of water on the ice. Never even got to drill a hole. My wife got her feet soaked as the water went over her boots and my buddy Steve got his feet soaked as well. Had to make a fire about 4:30 pm and dry they out somewhat. Temp got down to -30c. Finally made a decision at 9:00 pm to go back the way we came as we figured the slush had set up. We got back to the trailer by 11:00 pm. Never was so glad to see a trailer. So yeah be safe out there!

Sounds like you guys had quite the workout billdance. Sux that the access can be so tuff and horrible with all the snow, gotta find places with less snow now or wait awhile before venturing out, cuz it can be a ton of work getting into places unless have some good mountain machines..
Hopefully its only gonna get better from now on.

Definitely jealous of your fish, though feeling lucky not having to battle the inclement conditions.... this was Wednesday around Kammy.

wow, not much snow around your neck of the woods at all.

Yeah this seasons conditions made my last trip a bust too bill. But no sympathy for me... I tried to take a quad and follow one set of fled tracks haha 😃 I know better than that and paid the price. after 50m of smooth sailing I hit slush and had to walk back to my truck and carry out my ramps. 3hrs later I was as out, tired, and ready for home. Think I will stick to the snowshoes or try to get my old beater sled more start dependable haha. Pics are after I got unstuck
