We have been dormant for a long time, but in the last few  months it has picked up by 900%. I don't know who the moderator is but probably didn't assign one in the past because we had maybe a post a week.

Did ya here the one Bryan about the Albertan, BCer, and Ontarian. They were gathered round the fire one night. The beers started flowing heavily. The Albertan started bragging about how tough he was..... He says "I'm so tough, I was down in the Florida everglades and I fought gators with my buck knife" With that statement he held his knife up to the firelight. The Ontarian not wanting to be outdone says "Ahhh heck, why thats nothing. I was up in Alaska fighting grizzlies with my bare hands" he then held his hands up and they shimmered in the firelight. The BCer never said a word, he just sat there poking the fire with the end of his *****.

LOL thats a goodone, I love it here, i think BC is my new home now. that joke would have been pulled so quick in ontario it isnt even funny anymore. i think the get togethers in BC might be a little costly for me though, lol

I thought you were moving to north Vancouver Bryan? Yeah but would still be costly to come up for some icefishing as nearest ice is about 5 hrs away. Stick to streamfishing Bryan down there. And dont think you can go out and icefish on a freighter runway.
We don't really want you here if you think we are just a bunch of clowns icefishing.

Hay Terry, Because I'm half Carrier Indian & half Finish my mother calles me Findian. Everybody only sees the indian in me and always feels obligated to tell me Indian jokes. I herd one today that I thought was funny, , so let me share it with you.

An old Indian Cheif sat in his hut on the reservation, smoking a ceremonial pipe and eyeing two Canadian government officials sent to interview him. "Cheif Two Eagles" asked one official

An old Indian Cheif sat in his hut on the reservation, smoking a ceremonial pipe and eyeing two Canadian government officials sent to interview him. "Cheif Two Eagles" asked one official "You have observerd the wite man for 90 years. You've seen his wars and his technological advances...You've seen his progress, , , , and the damage he has done, , , , the Cheif nodded in agreement. The official cotinued, "Considering all these events, in your opinion, , , where did the white man go rong?"

The Cheif stared at the government officials for over a minute and calmly replied, , , "when white man found the land, Indians were running it."

NO taxes,

No debt,

Plenty Buffalo,

Plenty beaver,

Women did all work,

Medicine man free,

INDIAN MAN SPENT ALL DAY HUNTING AND FISHING,

ALL NIGHT HAVE SEX,

Then the Cheif leaned back and smiled, , , "only white man dumb enough think he could improve system like that."

I realy like this joke!

Hey Y'all,
It's nice to see some friendly competition on the old shanty.Just writing to let you know that I have not fallen off the face of the earth.Sorry to say that I will be out of town this weekend on a sledding trip out west.I will try to get some fishing in as the cabin is right on the lake. It doesn't get much pressure being up so high and I know there are some nice "Bows" in it. I'll try and get some pics for you guys. Next weekend we should try that "derby" idea that PGKris and Terrygonefishing were talking about, sounds like a blast. I'll even put up a package of halibut fillets and some gourmet bear pepperoni for one of the prizes . Anyone interested?

MMMMMM......Halibut :P

Hey Whiskey, that is my favorite new Indian joke! :D  By the way, I am officially 1/16 Mohican ;).  My Grandma's Grandma was full blooded.  Unfortunately I do not qualify for the exclusive "HUNT AND FISH ANYTIME YOU WANT ANYWHERE YOU WANT" card. :(

Bowron lakes chain.......snowmobile in.........never had more fun in my life..........I've said too much, now I must kill you! 8)  Since summertime 2003 I've marked down every local fishing trip I've taken (I think), the days when the fishing was good anyways, that's what matters :P But anyways, you should all start doing the same thing (If you dont already) cause it's a great way to remember how the fishing was at certain parts of the year. I write down:
1)Who was there
2)Where we were
3)Date, time
4)Fish caught (number, size, species etc...)
5)Lures or flies (colour, type, size etc...)
6)Bait (if any)
7)Weather (Temp, cloud cover, wind, etc...)
8)Water conditions (murky, clear, high or low flows etc...)

I tell you, it's been great to me. It's really easy to do, just sit down and write it out when you get home. I took a look couple of days before my last trip to Eena and I found out that if I went on sunday, I would be under the same conditions as last year when we caught a ton of fish! And I did the same this year.......I know when to fly fish the Crooked river for the best fishing and when not to.......what conditions are good out there and what aren't.......Works wonders......

Went out to Coo coo lake this afternoon and  caught 5 bows rangeing from 12 inches up to 22inch 3lb 8oz fattie. Only fished for burbys and lakers for about 1/2 hr... None. Had to come home to get ready for tomorrow. Good ice.

Careful Kris. Look what happened to Fisherman Jake..... He got all cuddled up with a young lass and started concentrating on his other rod. After a bit she said no more fishing. Now he is domesticated and no fishyman jake. I know, you say she fishes with you, that is a good sign. But the true sign of a good woman is if she puts the worms in her bra to keep them from freezing. I had a woman once that fished with me a few times then put the hammer down, we are no longer together. My wife now, I said to her when we first started going out... I fish and I hunt, if you are going to stand in the way of this then we may as well not start going out. This was on our first date. Don't wait man, concentrate on the fishing rod, lay the ground rules down in the beginning. What looks pretty may have anterior motives, next thing you know your flies will be collecting dust.

I have not been loged on long enough to know Fisherman Jake. I do recalle reading about him  :-\ . I recall TGF saying that maybe he will remember what fish smell calls to him more? Some day Fisherman Jake will be back, , , it's a primal instinct thing? ? ? He'll be back  ;)

Ya its hard time teaching a young man to follow the right rod. Instinct takes over and the urge to repopulate wins.
