Any suggestions

Can't get a crappie through the ice,  I try fishing the same places I get them in open water,(kinda shallow 8-12 ft).  Any suggestions on lures, or depths.  The lake is    40 ft at deepest spot.  Thanks in advance

Go to that deepest point in the lake.  I catch em in shallow water in the summer, but can only get them in the deep water through the ice.  My lake is 50' at it's deepest point and I usually find them in suspended 10' off bottom in 40 FOW.

My first suggestion is if you do not have a flasher, get one When I am on the prowl for crappies, I look for one of two things. I will either fish out in the middle in the basin of a bowl shaped lake or off of structure that takes you to the deepest water. As for depths this is where the flasher comes in handy. I have seen them all through the water column.

i would go to your crappie spot and move out a little deeper like 20feet or so, and if you dont have a vex get one as soon as you have the money. try a small glow jig with a tiny minnow.

Fish either dawn or dusk. That's when we seem to catch the most crappies. Also tear drop jig tipped with spikes or meal worm.

Have you guys tried any of the berkley products for crappies?I have been using the sparkle maggots and the honey meal plastics with alot of success.

The nymph and minnow PowerBait on a jig does well.

2. Key structures.

3. Move from key to key and do not be afraid to change things up.

4.  Get a flasher.

The fish might be right there, I fished 13 feet of water everything gills crappie all were suspended 6 foot down. Whith out a flasher how would anyone key in on them?
