Hey! royjulius is a busy man! With pike skin tanning, boating, catching perch, etc. (Wish I was busy like Roy!). Heading to Sioux Falls this morning to see our new niece this weekend, or I'd be up in the mountains looking for ice that might barely hold a guy carrying a bit more weight than I ought to be! Any good sporting goods store I should be swinging by while in SF?

32! Yes, I was busy catching a 4.5 pound bass and some perch. Pretty cold, I could see my breath til about 11am. 50 degree water.That Striker climate suit is awesome. I haven't been to Sioux Falls for decades Wyo, maybe someone will chime in.

Now that's what I call a hijack! haha...One Month! Great that you have snow Wyo. I'm gonna whack a pile of gills this Saturday and then go to the back of Pactola to try for another big pike to tan. (and eat). Then it might be time to put the boat away and wait.

No problem jbuss its been a fun thread. And Rebel....genius. I could wrap my 2 favorite Pike rod handles. I forgot to mention that I had to defrost the car windows this morning too!

I just thought with the rod handles (cork ones, so no "flex") and a couple of layers of clear whatever over them to protect and bring out detail, might be neat. Hmmm..I think we just gave some company an idea....

27, but with a caveat:(I know, big word for an ice fisherman) The 3 lakes that freeze up first are being drained. Lakota, Bismark, and Horsethief. As far as I know they are empty right now. The bays at Sheridan, Deerfield, and Stockade will be fishable. (I hope).

Not working on them because I'm still using them. Tomorrow I'm gonna try for another tank pike as well as a limit of gills, then next Thursday I'm off so I plan to go get some perch at Sheridan if they're still where I left 'em last week. Right now I just pick that skin up and look at it and say...."cool."

25! Got limits of big bluegills, a few pike (small, released) and a couple of big trout at Pactola yesterday. Only 3 other boats on the lake. Fall fishing has been really good this year, and now I'll have enough bluegill and pike to last until hardwater. I hope everyone else is whackin em and stackin em.

I miss fishing for 'gills with my dad as a kid. That night grandma would fry them up and I'd be so proud to have fed the family.

23! Yeah Wyo, that's how I still feel. Since I lost my Alma I have moved into town and am looking after my parents in their declining years. I bring the gills or perch or pike and my Mom can still fry 'em up as good as always. I'm really enjoying this quality time I get to spend with them.
