Wow, beautiful jumbo! It just kinda sucks that I sort of set a goal to beat the record myself starting 4 years ago, and the record has been getting broken nearly every year since.

I was chasing that record for a whie, too. One fish missed by .03 pounds. If I had moved faster to get to a certified scale I might have been briefly listed in the record books. This new record is more likely to be broken by luck than by actively trying to catch a 2 pound yellow.

Yea... my friends already think I’m weird since I’m usually jigging for them instead of setting traps for bass. Just more fun fishing with electronics than waiting and tending traps.

When I was in the country of Norway years ago during the Olympics I was amazed at the large Fiberglass Yellow perch that hung along one wall in the ice skating arena probably close to 30' in length

There's some massive yellows in the bigger lakes. I would say ones that could reach world reach size of near 3lbs. Target near the mouth of rivers in late winter/early spring on humps.

30 feet is one hell of a perch

They have a different species of YP that get much much larger then what we have.

Nordic perch are like yellow perch but more greenish silver than gold. Could have been a yellow perch stocked by their Govt that bred with a local specimen to become... Marvel Peeerrrch!
