Otter Mods.
« on: Oct 26, 2018, 07:11 PM »
Did a few mods to my Otter Lodge, rod box and atv.
Mounted the buddy heater inside. Built a power box, added inserts and rope hinges to the rod case so I can open it when it’s on the MonsterBox ( got 9 rods in it. Also figured out how to mount K drill on Digger auger rack. I extended the Otter tow bar 30 inches. Should help keep the snow out of the shack when towing.

I like your mods to the rod box.  I'll be adding that to the project list.

Great idea on the tow hitch extension. I filled mine full of slush more than once last year.

That’s a 10 pound fiberglass tank. It weighs half as much as a steel tank. They recalled them so I can’t get it filled anymore. Went to the steel tank.

Hey Dan J what size square tubing did you use to extend that Otter tow bar?

I used 3/4 inch aluminum. I rounded off the sharp edges and tapped them in with a rubber mallet.  Then clamped both sides together to keep them straight and drilled through the original holes.

Finished it today, everything turned out better than I planned. I have 7 ft. Between the atv and the Otter lodge, should help keep the snow out.
