Any ice left anywhere?
« on: May 07, 2014, 10:39 AM »
I was asked the question this morning. A friend was/ is hoping to travel and fish one last time. So, is there ant safe, fishable ice left here in Maine?
Thanks!
They're lying when they tell you it's all in how you wiggle your bait!

Got Five acres east of the Cape lighthouse with a nice pond fully stocked year round...bathing suit and flipper are a neccesity....even has wind power........real cheap ...cash no checks......might even throw in a mermaid from Mass depending on the tide.

Oh there is still ice around not sure if its safe as most will be gone by the weekend, but yes ice is still covering some lakes, and I bet some of the ones in the NMW still have walkable ice once you hit the higher elevations with little sun due to heavy tree coverage.

Even if there is any ice in the northern counties the A season ponds are closed to ice fishing after April 30. It is legal to ice fish in the southern and eastern counties but those places are first to lose their ice.
