coming up in dec. & wondering if anyone fishes for anything other than wallys or crappies. how,bout gills, perch, pike? should a guy bring stuff for those if the wally bite is off or if we limit out before our time is up? just wondering since i,ve NEVER heard of this. thanks, wire

They do have other fish in the lake. Walleye are the predominate fish by far. From my experiance, perch, Pike, and crappie can and will be caught but it is just a random type thing. Never seen a consistent prolonged catch of any of the fish besides walleye. Gills.....I'm sure they have them, but never seen one come out of the lake.....usually we are fishing a ways from shore though.

I've only fished Red during ice once but I used to open water fish it yearly for over 10 years. There are some monster pike (or were) in the lake, never caught a sunfish but I'm sure they're in there. We've caught several perch but nothing of any size. The most consistent fishing you're going to have is walleye and crappie.
