jaw jacker rod
« on: Jan 29, 2013, 01:52 PM »
Just ordered up a jaw jacker and was wondering from those who have one what some good rods to use with them would be? The main species I fish for would be perch, walleyes, pike, and a lot of trout all sizes.  Thanks for the help

Whatever you decide to get make sure there fiberglass rods, graphite rods tend to snap.

Just searched cabelas website and couldn't find this sale, even in the bargain cave. I don't think that there is a Cabelas anywhere near Blackfoot so guessing you were referring to their website?

Mine haven't.  I don't care for the ugly sticks.  Three Jawjackers in the family.  5 rods that have been used in them.  All 100% graphite.  Not one snapped.

My only thought on the subject is whether or not the rods were used in the most vertical position of the Jawjacker, or if the trigger wasn't extended enough, thereby putting too much stress on the rods.
