Title: 1st Trip to Firehole
Post by: SlaptheFish on Dec 12, 2018, 10:54 AM
Just took one of my good friends to Firehole for a one night trip to Flaming Gorge (Firehole) Monday-Tuesday.  What a beatiful place it was, absolutely no phone service down there, but the scenery was magnificent.  Slow fishing the first day, but found a spot to nail a few yesterday.  Against my better judement we camped on about 5-7 inches of ice and made it out alive.  The ice was difinately growing, and the two chimney rocks they have in the area were really cool to see.  I took a couple of scenery pics I will try and get posted if I ever have a chance.  Was a good little trip, I definately suggest going there if anybody gets a chance.

Cheers,

Slap

Looks like a great time chris. Good on you for getting adam out, I'm sure it was some great unwind time for both of you.

Actually took 3 burbot out, all over 24 inches and missed a few jingles in the night as well.  Caught a rainbow and had a nice laker up to the hole  before he bowed out.  Missed a few hook sets, but they were definately into the different color pks, it was fun.  Even followed in Joe's footsteps and caught a movie in the tent.  Hell weird as it is, Adam caught one of those big burbs with no bait on the red dot.

Sorry I didn't give ya a call Joe, I have no excuse. :-\
