What Happening out at Lake Lenore please
-
Was out from 830 till 6 today.
Caught 10 pike, 2 walleye on the ice, lost 3, 2 at the hole one for reel broke on hook set.
5 or 6 walleye cruising around and just nudged hook.
Water is dirty only really had things start up after I through the camera down to see what was going on. Changed to glow in the dark jigs and things were better.

Hi you were at Lunk's ?
-
Sorry haven't been on. Ues at Lung's in front of lungs Seed Farms.
Going to go tomorrow morning and see if there are the same results.
-
Anyone driving on I made it last Sunday but sceptical about today
-
Yup sure did. Shoveled truck out of a drift for 2 hours. And then an awesome CO showed up as I was almost done. One tug and out the truck came.
Thank you very much CO Bruce was getting kind of tired. When you stopped by. Awesome guy you are. I would have said what an idiot and drove off lol.
Take a sled or walk. I never did make it to my spot.

any reports on lake Lenore this season
-
very slow. I have only landed 1 walleye so far this season and I have been out 5 times. Going to try again this evening. No trucks out on the lake yet so its either walk or bring an ATV.
They don't seem to be around as the flasher is quiet as well.

-
Picked up 5 pike & 2 walleye on Tuesday. Really didn't bite till after 3:00pm.
-
What is the access like? Lots of snow out there?
-
could be blown shut after this weekend. the lake is at the point where you can get stuck now and the drifts are deep. a good 8 inches of snow across the whole thing

Has anyone been out on Lenore with a 4x4 truck recently?
I work in a lab at the U of R and we're planning to collect some water samples at Lenore within the next couple of weeks. We have a 4x4 truck which should be able to handle a lot of snow but just curious if anyone else has tried it. I'm assuming that the ice is thick enough to drive on? If not we will walk and use a sled instead.
I've attached a map with our sampling points circled, one is in the south basin (52.4358, -105.02401) and one is up north by St. Brieux (52.6208, -104.91142).
Thanks!

Both lakes are good to drive on with a truck
-
Great, thanks!

Hi everybody, any perch at Lenore? Has anybody caught perch out there?
-
You will catch a few every year so I wouldn't go for perch fishing.

thanks, going for the whitefish then tomorrow
-
Yes those were what they were called.. i havent done it in years but my buddies dad suggested its the only way to catch whites
Shallow water cant remember under 8 feet for sure we would lay on the ice to site fish with a coat over us to see better
Typically we caught them near ice level but im sure bottom is as good
-
Does anyone know if the durby is still ago next weekend ?
-
It’s always a go
-
anyone using extensions on there augers yet
-
no extensions needed. My shack is on 8 inch skids and I still have room to drill in the shack without the extension.
-
thanks ben hopefully the fish aren't hiding in warmer climate lol

Most of the time if you can tough out the cold days they are even more active. I fished up north last year in -42 without the windchill and in 10 hours of fishing I don't think I waited more than 30 seconds for my next bite, catching 4 species of fish in the process.
-
the sun supposed to be shining so that will help as long as wind is light

Has anyone accessed Lake Lenore via this road (coordinates are 52.4358, -105.02401)? Just wondering whether the road off 777 is accessible with a 4x4 truck or if there is a lot of snow.
Also curious about the same thing for St Brieux. The coordinates there are 52.6208, -104.91142 (circled point in the picture.)
Thanks!

Lake Lenore is accessible from the 777. that is the boat launch.
st Brieux I want to say no. you would have to walk through someones yard to get to the lake from there
-
Great, thanks! We'll try the more northern access point for St Brieux, I think we were able to access the lake there in November.
-
How is access here since the snow and cold? Can you still access the little lake from the east or west side? Is an extension needed yet?
Thanks!
-
There is no more vehicle access. I tried and got stuck bad. drifts are big and rock hard so you wont get far.
-
Thanks ben-lucky, I guess I’ll have to load up the skidoo or walk out somewhere. Lake access is very limited in the area now, quite a change from the past few years.

Hi all,
Has anyone accessed the lake recently at St Brieux (see picture, coordinates are 52.62993, -104.90507). In January we were able to park there and walk onto the lake, but I'm wondering whether the road is still accessible now that there's been a lot of snow.
We also were able to drive on the lake in the south part of Lenore but based on what ben-lucky said I'm assuming there's too much snow to drive there now (other picture.) So we will probably walk instead... I'm hoping that at least the road off 777 is accessible so we can park at the boat launch?
Thanks!

The farmer who plows the south side of lake lenore is thirsty (likes whiskey) and tired of pulling out dumb ass people who try to drive on with crapty vechiles....so if you going make sure you have a bottle with you. Your all wheel drive edge or caravan does not mean its a 4x4 capable of going through over a foot of snow.
-
....are you the farmer??! ???
-
sounds like a local that knows what's up is all.

Hi! I'm wondering if someone could tell me the approximate date when most of the ice has melted on Lenore lake.
I'm from the University of Regina and writing my thesis on winter conditions in lakes around SK, so that's why I'm hoping to catch the approx. ice-off date, which would be when 2/3 of the lake has melted or the first day when its completely melted to go with a boat. I'm grateful for any reply and update as soon as the ice melts! Thanks! :)

Haha thanks nice mustang. We had a 4x4 truck, but from past experience we know it can still get stuck in the snow... other trucks had made some tracks though so we were able to drive out a little ways on the ice without getting stuck! Next time we will bring some whiskey just in case :)

Just reposting this to see if anyone might be planning to keep track of when the ice has completely melted on Lenore. I'm hoping to sample there as soon as it's possible to get out with a boat, guessing that will be about mid to late April. I'm also interested in other lakes in the area, namely Wakaw and Humboldt lake. Thanks!

Wondering what the ice and snow conditions are like in the south basin and St Brieux (see points on map), and if anyone has been driving on with 4x4 trucks.
Thanks!
