Daiwa

Anyone use Daiwa spinning reels for ice fishing?

I noticed a new reel at Cabelas/BPS, the carbon lite 2.0 spinning reel  thats clearly made by Daiwa and its super smooth, the color will match my white custom rod I'm getting tomorrow 😁

The one important thing is look at the line roller on Diawa's.  They make some really smooth reels, but often just stick a plain metal bushing into the line roller.

Diawa’s entire line is equal or better than most manufactures at the price point you’re looking for. Compare $20 reels to $20 reels and $300 to $300 to be a legitimate comparison.

True but most 500 size shimano reels also have a bushing instead of a bearing.

Agreed, I have a Steez and the new Daiwa Certate LT that are amazing, I just have not used any for ice fishing...

I do like that, the folding handle would come in handy when fitting into a case.

Thanks for that link, just ordered one from FishUSA!  I love my 500’s but they are a little small for some of my fishing.

I was thinking about ordering one also but I work at Cabelas/BPS so I get a better discount on name brand items, so white it is.

I have been a Shimano guy for my open water reels forever - and I love the ones I have. But I have been very impressed with the Daiwa reels I bot over the past couple of years.  I have not tried their ice fishing size reels yet but their larger reels are really nice.
