Title: Eskimo gas cap not venting
Post by: mc1984ss on Feb 17, 2019, 05:22 PM
Long story short my barely used Eskimo rocket auger quit running. They sent me a new carburetor and it ran great, tried it two different days at home. Got to lake drilled 9 holes then it died. Did the exact same thing it did before I changed the carb. Fire die fire die fire die. At this point I realized it wasn't getting fuel, I cracked the gas cap heard it suck in air and it fired right up and ran great all day if I kept the cap cracked loose. I am going to call them tomorrow again but was wondering if anyone else had this problem? I do not want to run my auger with a loose cap and gas spilling out. My next one will be electric! Thanks in advance

DOes that have the Vented cap with the screw on top? I just bought a M51 and it doesn't have that cap. I think I read somewhere to slice the rubber in the cap to vent it. Don't do this unless someone confirms, because I am not positive.

Do not fill the gas tank completely full, leave some room for air. Works for my snowblower.

It always ran fine before with the same amount of fuel, the cap is not venting. Even with a partial tank it does the same thing
