BAIT for minnow traps?

ive been experimenting on baits to fill my minnow traps,as chubs are predators they will clean out every fathead in your tank,so i was thinking ill put all the bass eggs,rib cages,and mud lines in my traps and  VIOLA traps loaded with chubs. hope it helps

Sounds like a winner. Going to give it a try. This time when I catch the chubs I am going to cover the half full 5 gal bucket with something. If not, I found out the hard way they ALL jump out of the bucket over night.

How often do you check your traps?  This is my first year getting my own minnows.  Just curious if I'm waiting too long or not long enough.

all depends if you can see them a couple hours, if not my best luck is over night. if unattended need to be tagged.and after a warm rain is when i do best,just watch that they dont get washed otta da crick

i seem to have the best luck on dry dog food soaked for no more than 4 to 6 hours, any longer i feel that they find their way back out.
