We are getting sick of the lefts wacko ideas.
Intersting, he of no sources he can back up with fact, study and reliable checkable sources. Yep, I copied and pasted reality and YOU, Rusty, have zero to back you up. NOTHING! hahaha Show some sources of shut up then grow up. :)  ;D

The one thing that is certain, is that NONE of us will be around to see the outcome...h2l
It’s already here and will be getting worse and worse. Have you noticed the news and extremes of weather lately?

The only thing you have to go on is "sniffing too many unicorn farts and snorting fairy dust.” Show where you get you info. If you can’t that says a lot about your brand of kool-aid. What are you afraid of. I don’t post “ideas” let alone “wacko ideas”. The wackos’ have nothing but snowflake right wing kool-aid.  I post vetted science and repeatable data from verifiable sources. Have you not the guts or brains to do the same. YOU just ain’t got it. I have yet to see any of you guys post something real.

"Scientists already have documented these impacts of climate change:

Ice is melting worldwide, especially at the Earth’s poles. This includes mountain glaciers, ice sheets covering West Antarctica and Greenland, and Arctic sea ice. In Montana's Glacier National Park the number of glaciers has declined to fewer than 30 from more than 150 in 1910.
Much of this melting ice contributes to sea-level rise. Global sea levels are rising 0.13 inches (3.2 millimeters) a year, and the rise is occurring at a faster rate in recent years.
Rising temperatures are affecting wildlife and their habitats. Vanishing ice has challenged species such as the Adélie penguin in Antarctica, where some populations on the western peninsula have collapsed by 90 percent or more.
As temperatures change, many species are on the move. Some butterflies, foxes, and alpine plants have migrated farther north or to higher, cooler areas.
Precipitation (rain and snowfall) has increased across the globe, on average. Yet some regions are experiencing more severe drought, increasing the risk of wildfires, lost crops, and drinking water shortages.
Some species—including mosquitoes, ticks, jellyfish, and crop pests—are thriving. Booming populations of bark beetles that feed on spruce and pine trees, for example, have devastated millions of forested acres in the U.S.”

Fishing on a machine pretending you have something hooked and are playing it is about as real as you get. Stop running your typing fingers mouth. Show something to back yourself up with facts or just shut up and  Have fun in your play pen, little one. Once again: Where do you get your facts and studies to inform your opinion. I guess you just like touching yourself, so to speak.  Just so you know, I always give fools the last word.

Aside from debating over if its real or not or how its caused, the real issue is all of the so called fixes for carbon emissions.  Until people get real about solving it, all the arguing isnt going to do anything.  I dont know very many of my friends or neighbors that are going to be happy if they turn the light switch on in the middle of the night and nothing happens.  All of the solar and wind wack nuts have no answer as to how we power the grid and keep our standard of living that we have without base loading the power grid somehow.  The base load issue has not been solved without using alot of nuclear power or some other standby power source that we are going to have to pay for along with the nice expensive wind and solar "green" power.  The enormity of it is staggering and not something that Im betting you will find alot of people trust the government to fix.

(One more trip to Junior, Saturday!!!)

Yeah blacktrap, a reasonable surmise! The plan would be to phase in renewables while phasing out fossil fuels. Fossil fuels would be employed diminishingly over the short term decades. Yes, there would need to be standby and co generation.  Large battery banks would take up slack during bad weather times using the existing grid and the updating grid. Lithium availability is another issue, but there are emerging new battery technologies.  Meanwhile, solar and wind will create many more jobs than are now being lost in the coal industry, and if we are smart, production of equipment would be done in the US or in closer cooperation with producing nations. It is worth noting, petroleum and coal have many uses in production goods and services, including, for instance: plastics, pharmesuticals, fertilizer, vehicles parts, manufacturing renewable tech equipment and  powering high speed rail. It could be fossil fuels are channeled into specific service for the most efficient long term use, rather than burning it all up quickly. WE cold have the use of fossil fuels for hundreds of years in this way.

Meanwhile MY whole home is being powered by 9 solar panels and 20 batteries. Even in winter, it runs the washer and all house electric. I can’t do laundry on extended clouded days yet. BUT I will have 40 batteries connected to 12 296w/32.9v panels by mid summer. and another 10 batteries fully charged on standby. It’s wicked overkill. hahaha. It’ll run a small electric water heater - it would now if I didn’t like strong flow showers. ( I now use an on demand propane that works great - the electric will likely be plumbed into it for a preheat when necessary or desired to save propane ), a micowave, the well pump and a 15 cubic ft. freezer along with the other home stuff and power tools.

It is long past conjecture as to whether or not humans are effecting climate change and global warming. The conjecture and intent now should turn to cognizant use of current and evolving technologies to best maintain our planet and lives.

China is already WAY ahead of us, AFTER the republican congress said they wouldn’t comply. Wellll... they did and they will bury us in new tech. I don’t know about India. Get informed then get back to me. Show sources have another budweiser and shut up. The US can lead, but the people in oil and coal prefer they keep us poor and stupid. Seems to work where you live. Like I said, get informed and show sources. I won’t respond to you again until you come up with something to verify your last call logic.

This list contains the top 500 cities by PM2.5 annual mean concentration measurement as documented by the World Health Organization covering the period from 2008 to 2017. The 2018 version of the WHO database contains results of ambient (outdoor) air pollution monitoring from almost 2700 towns and cities in 91 countries. Air quality in the database is represented by the annual mean concentration of particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5, i.e. particles smaller than 10 or 2.5 micrometers, respectively).[1][2][3]

http:// List of most-polluted cities by particulate matter concentration

Good info....

Meanwhile China IS making serious strides to mitigate  these stats. At the same time, even given these stats, the US is the largest producer of green house gases and users of materials purchased from the other highest producers. SOOOOO, once again, The US is the largest influencer on the planet.

http://The top three greenhouse gas emitters— China, the European Union and the United States—contribute more than half of total global emissions, while the bottom 100 countries only account for 3.5 percent. Collectively, the top 10 emitters account for nearly three-quarters of global emissions.

Is this the list we are looking for ? I apologize if I’m missing the mark
http:// List of most-polluted cities by particulate matter concentration

Particulate matter is not the same as greenhouse gasses. It is more likely to cause respiratory problems than any greenhose gasses. Some sources of high particulate air pollution can also be high emitters of greenhouse gasses. Other sources of greenhouse gasses emit very little airborne particulates.

Hydroelectric plants. Can't get much greener or a more natural way to produce electricity. Windfarrms, solar arrays, battery banks. I've worked on and helped install all of these methods of electricity to the power grid. Much safer and more  cost effective than coal fired or nuclear powered generation stations. Fossil fuel and nuke plants have been being phased out for atleast 20 years and renewable sources have been replacing them for just as long. It doesn't happen as fast as we like because of the cost.
Fishing is easy. Catching is the hard part.

:thumbsup:Things are moving, but the entrenched money is doing all it can to stop it. Profit for a few or wellbeing for many is the choice.

oh by the by you solar guys. what do you do with those panels and batteries when they are no longer working

I should get 10 more years out of my batteries, then they will be replaced with the best tech new ones. The batteries will then be recycled, taken and sold for metal salvage.

The panels should give me another 15 plus years, then, They will be replaced as needed. In the next few years, there a lot of new developments and upgrades expected in the panel and battery technology, including life span.  I don’t think it will be as major as computers have developed, at least in size. In the 60’s a military government computer took up a city block. Now, you hold an exponentially more powerful on in your hand. I believe we will see good progress with solar, wind and tidal..... These techs are in their infancy, Like horseless carriages in the late 19th century.

"What Is the Lifespan of a Solar Panel? Photovoltaic (PV) modules typically come with 20 year warranties that guarantee that the panels will produce at least 80% of the rated power after 20 years of use. The general rule of thumb is that panels will degrade by about 1% each year.”  https://www.engineering.com/3DPrinting/3DPrintingArticles/ArticleID/7475/What-Is-the-Lifespan-of-a-Solar-Panel.aspx

"But, fortunately, climate change is not a binary thing. It’s not the case that 1.4 degrees Celsius of warming is fine but 1.6 degrees is catastrophic. Every incremental increase in emissions leads to an incremental increase in temperature and in the risks that society and ecosystems face. Every bit we do to reduce warming reduces that risk.”  https://news.rutgers.edu/what-you-need-know-about-latest-un-climate-change-report/20181112#.XKT4uVLMy1s

"Discontinuities in vegetation responses at around 4 °C of global land surface warming across a number of the vegetation models indicate thresholds above which the positive impacts of increasing CO2 become dominated by negative impacts of moisture stress at the global scale. In two models the threshold is expressed in NPP, in two it is in residence time, and in one it is in both. Further work should focus on confronting the processes and emergent model behavior responsible for these discontinuities with observational data. Spatial and temporal variability in carbon residence time and tree mortality is an obvious place to start, and although recent studies have identified important sources of rele- vant data (e.g., refs. 20 and 21), data on key processes such as mortality at large scales are rare. An exception is the authors of ref. 22, who interrogated a large eastern US forest inventory database for mortality dynamics. They found substantial spatial variation in mortality rates, driven by species-specific relation- ships with environmental factors. Future changes in mortality rates cannot therefore be predicted simply from current mortality/ climate relationships. These data need to be fully understood at a mechanistic level, and used to inform methodologies for

Vegetation carbon residence time not only is important be- cause of its contribution to GVM uncertainty, but also represents a key stage in the cascade of carbon from the atmosphere, through various organic and inorganic surface pools, and back to the atmosphere. Changes in vegetation carbon residence times can cause major shifts in the distribution of carbon between pools, overall fluxes, and the time constants of terrestrial carbon tran- sitions, with consequences for the land carbon balance and the associated state of ecosystems. The model results presented here clearly demonstrate the need for increased understanding of the multifaceted dynamics of this key ecosystem property.”  https://www.pnas.org/content/pnas/111/9/3280.full.pdf

RUTGERS LEAD STUDY: (Fisheries world wide are already in collapse. So, What does "Climate change shrinks many fisheries globally, Rutgers-led study finds” mean?

"We were stunned to find that fisheries around the world have already responded to ocean warming," said Malin Pinsky, study co-author and associate professor in Rutgers' Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Natural Resources. "These aren't hypothetical changes sometime in the future."

The study reports that the effects of ocean warming have been negative for many species, but also finds that other species have benefited from warming waters.

"Fish populations can only tolerate so much warming, though," said senior author, Olaf Jensen, an associate professor in Rutgers' Department of Marine and Coastal Sciences. "Many of the species that have benefited from warming so far are likely to start declining as temperatures continue to rise.”   https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2019-02/ru-ccs022219.php

“.....Overfishing provides a one-two punch to fisheries facing warming waters. Overfishing not only makes fisheries more vulnerable to ocean warming, but continued warming will also hinder efforts to rebuild overfished populations, the study says.

An important next step is to understand the impacts of ocean warming on tropical regions, where data are limited, according to Free. These regions rely heavily on coastal fisheries as a source of food and livelihoods. Another important step is to learn more about other potential impacts on ocean fisheries. Aside from ocean temperatures, ocean oxygen content, acidity and productivity are also changing and may influence fisheries."

Check out @HowieCarrShow’s Tweet: https://twitter.com/HowieCarrShow/status/1113516939538718720?s=09

I’ll go with Rutgers, NOAA, NASA and the overwhelming science from scientists and Universities from all over the world.

Did you read ANY of those studies? I doubt it. Knowledge can be toxic to the comfort of ignorance.  :flex:   :woot:

Howie Carr and Ted Nugget! hahahaha

Was you father born in a nice town in Germany too? hehe ;D ::)
