Taking out some new guys.
« on: Dec 21, 2010, 01:15 PM »
Hey,
I am taking out a couple of guys on Friday who do not have any equipment. I have enough rods but am wondering how I should set them up for them to use. I don't have enough electronics for them so I am looking at other ways to get them to the fish. Most likely we will be fishing for bluegill.

thanks,

Simply show them how to find bottom then pull up a foot and jig... This is how the pre-electronics guys fished every day.
First guy to get on two fish steady have them duplicate his depth and style.. Good luck. I am taking out two newbies tomorrow myself.

Sounds like a plan.  If the guys you are taking have zero experience, you will probably want to tie on quick snaps or line ties.
Otherwise, you won't do much time fishing.

just a suggestion.

One guy is from the south and is dying to go. Hope he dresses warm.

IF you have at least one flasher you can make it work for 2 guys.

I had to do this all the time a few years ago as all my buddies were in college and I was the morkin man. They didnt have any money to buy a flasher. I would drill 3 holes in the shack. 1 for each of us and 1 in the middle for the flasher. Put the flasher in the middle and you should be able to get both baits to show up on it. We would usually fish in 15 ft of water or more. Not sure how well this would work in shallower water liek 6 ft or less.
Northern pike are for guys that cant catch walleye :v)
