Title: Trucks anywhere
Post by: MichiganMan on Jan 24, 2024, 02:54 PM
Wife and I are both to old to walk much distances on the lakes. I'm 75 and have a few issues but still try to keep ice fishing. Are there any lakes with truck traffic yet ? Gwinn to iron MTN, hardwood, genes pond etc. thank you all for any help.

up here in the Keweenaw we are still working on ice thick enough to walk on
as for truck traffic I don't think so for this year
there is a warm up for the next 10 days with rain near the 8th,9th,10th  day

Sawyer lake north of Channing had 2 full size pickups on it Thursday. They are nuts. There are plowed roads out there for tip up town this Saturday. I hope they block off the access to lake to vehicles. People I have talked to say 10"" max and alot of spots more like 6. I understand wanting to get out, but it's not worth drowning over. Be safe.  Steve

Sounds about right. The few Mqt County lakes I fished this weekend were exactly that. 10" in one spot and 6" or less in another slush pocket.
Plan to see how some of the Dickinson Cty ice is holding this weekend. Maybe Gene's, etc..
