Ice Shacks
« on: Jan 27, 2024, 10:38 PM »
Why is it that none of the Lakes around Prince George have permanent Ice Shacks out.
Coming from another province where shacks are out once the ice is good and there till March
Any reasons that I am unaware of??

compare the ice to pg area to the prairies- slush, often lots of snow make it sketchy for people to put shacks on lakes, most lakes dont get wind blown causing potentially a ton of work to get frozen shack out of the ice. Even on the lakes where there are 100's of houses on the lakes dont even see shacks..
But that doesnt mean there hasnt been tons of huge fish caught this year   ;) ;)
