Your posts this year really look like major progress. Looks like you can work on the inside now in bad weather. Hope this does not interfere with fishing. Good job.

Great photo Drifter must be fun watching Mother Nature's light show. The siding and soffit work look good may the weather continue to stay in your favor.

Finished off the porch siding today.
Still one row to go on once the ceiling cedar is installed.

Got some siding on the West wall as well today.

Back to the front wall tomorrow and some more wood working.  ;)

Siding looks good also nice work with the window and door trim. Just curious have you had any visitors stop by since you started this project wanting to meet the person doing all the work.

Dave, you're a man's man in the best ways.  You've done it again--kept me on IS over the Spring and Summer.  Dream location, gorgeous work, thanks as always for sharing.  I've said it before and I'll say it again, you ROCK.  Good work, buddy.  Be safe and don't forget to do some fishing!

Hunts2long I just figured someone would be curious enough to see what was going on and maybe ask if the cabin was available for renting once project is complete. I agree no one ever volunteers  to give a hand with the work. ;D

I would love to be able to go up and help out on the project if my body was not worn out from working in the building trades all of my life. I worked alone most of my career but nothing to the magnitude that Drifter is doing. What he is accomplishing is truly fantastic.

One thing I always found out while working alone was that I got to talking to my self as the was no one else around. If I got in an argument with my self I always won and always got the right answer to any questions I had.

Another couple of days work and I've completed the siding under the deck.
Still needs to be trimmed but the bulk of the work is done.

Have also been working on building trim boards to go between the big windows and the upper smaller windows on the front wall.
The trim boards are 2 pieces of 2X8X12 foot long that have been pinned and glued together.

Took a lot of time gluing, planing and sanding to get it like this.

Will get the one side installed tomorrow and work on the trim over the left side angled window.

Shoulda gone outside last night!

GEOMAGNETIC STORM UPDATE: A strong G3-class geomagnetic storm that sparked bright equinox auroras around the Arctic Circle last night is now subsiding. At the peak of the storm, Northern Lights descended into the USA as far south as

Washington, Michigan, Montana, Wisconsin, Illinois and Minnesota.

The activity was sparked by a stream of solar wind flowing from a large hole in the sun's atmosphere. Free: Aurora Alerts:  http://spaceweather.com/         ;)2
