6 inches of good ice on west pond  I fished by the dock and caught a dozen trout
Gold tungsten jig with a wax worm  They where on the bottom  10 foot deep
When you mark a fish while jigging slow it down a raise up slowly
Also used glow red jig and red maggots worked good

The east side froze up 2 days before the west did
Because of the wind

I would imagine that the trout would be easy to catch right now, caught some for the first time earlier this ice season and they are a blast.  Great fight and pretty fish

Hammered the Rainboes last weekend ended up catching 6 and some were 12 inches or so. Ice was 9 inches in the area I fished.
