I was up there y-day and it was snowing pretty hard. All lakes have a solid lid. Lake John as just over 12" of ice now as well as the delaney's.

Hey thanks for the info!
Seems like we don't have too many Northern Colo hard-water folks in here.
All the best to ya!

Found this on another board about Chambers:

Quote
Myself and two buddies hit Chambers Friday from 7 to 12. We caught a few lake trout but nothing spectacular. The real surprise of the day was a 18.5" bow that hit my Buckshot as I was dropping it to the bottom (sorry no pics the camera was dead). She nailed it at about 15' over 55' of water. She went about 2.25lbs. I've never seen a bow that size out of that lake.

There is already some slush building up on the West side of the lake close to the shore. Hopefully it will freeze solid. That lake can get down right nasty when it gets slushy with all the snow on top of it.

Laramie River Rd. is covered with crusty snow and there are drifts of at least 3' already. We tried to make it with the truck but had to turn back and use the snowmobiles instead.

What a day! Got up into the high country and had a blast!
Took my stepson Shannon along and we had just non-stop action.

Really cool, saw a couple of kids who were having a great time catching fish
with their grandmothers  :o who were showing how it's done!

Tackle remark:  Trout Magnet hooks are cheap!  Never had a cook snap in half so easy.
Rat Finkies were the bomb! (pink) with a mealworm on.

No wind, sunshine galore. Fishing in a wool shirt.  Gotta love it!
