traps get dusted off

 well dug out the traps and chased the mice out from their summer dwelling.....got my flags all changed......floro green,deep blue, and a couple lavender just to see how they match up against the snow.....found the nylon flag material online....auger and rest is makin its way out in due time and trap overhaul after the xmas rush when i finally have both eyes open.... ;)2

I'm gonna get mine out this week as I put my hunting stuff away. I think I'll get some lube and grease 'em up. I'm also thinking of going with a lot more leader this year. maybe something florocarbon... I remember someone saying there was some good stuff on the market, but I forgot the name. I remember that floro doesn't take a good cinch knot and to use a palomar knot...

shack is just about ready.. hope its not frozen to the driveway... I'll check on that today.

I use a simple clinch knot with fluoro.  In the lighter tests, it can fail if you don't seat it properly.  If I'm making leaders up ahead of time, I just put a drop of superglue on the knot.  The polamar knot is a good choice with lighter tests, but can be a bit bulky.  I use a surgeon's end loop on the other end to make leader changes easy.

I like Seaguar best.

think I'm gonna try floro also but I do know those "red" wanta be hooks aren't goin near my line this year. They didn't even fool the bait.................. .lol

from my expirience, cant beat the floro orange, i can see it right up to dusk in the middle of a storm, so, thats wht iv'e stuck with
