Remember the Maine!!!!!!!!
« on: Nov 21, 2005, 09:33 AM »
Hey all,

Just wanted to wish you Noreasterners a great and safe winter fishing season.  I'm from Illinois but head out to Maine every summer to spend time at my inlaw's "Camp"  I love that term,  we use "cabin" here in WI/IL.    I usually fish the Belgrade lakes region in the summer mainly Long Pond.  I wonder how the ice fishing is on this lake.  We were catching some pike this summer with one being close to a 30 incher.  It should be a good winter pike lake!!!!!!!!!!!

Well good luck and catch some feesh!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

I have a camp on long pond and it has slowed quite a bit since ice fishing started there a couple of years ago.  we do get a couple every now and then but you do have to find them to have any success.  Ice fishing there is Pike only.
enough is enough

In the three years I have been going there I still have more to learn about that lake.  My wife's family camp is on the public right across from a slender island with someones camp on it as well.  Its on the side of the public boat launch next to castle rock cabins.  I'm still trying to find a nice spot for smallies. Pike catches have been increasing each year.

Go to little north just  up the Road with a nice fat 10in sucker if you want the big pike. Or down to sabattus  if you want to catch alot
