Saw 2 guys out off eagle yesterday.

I thought of going out this morning, but decided to head home and work on the house some.   It was 17 this morning.  The open areas from yesterday were locked up with 1/2" of beautiful, strong ice.   There shouldn't be any more slush.  If you trust the ice, it's as good as it's going to get.

There was about 10" of mixed ice, but the shoreline looks like it could go at any time! With weather yesterday I wouldn't
           try it! :(

The shore and ice was fine yesterday.  The fishing was not but hey on ice 1 April.  Not too bad.  Even got a visit from the local EPO.  I forget his name, lives near the lake.  Bs'ed with him for a while and was happy to see a personable officer.

How much did the lake rise with the rain?   I think another 2 inches is supposed to fall by friday.

It's on the rise, a lot more rain coming, then sixties and seventies afterward.  Just in time, my ice out contest dates start Monday!  ;D

I got a look at the lake today.  Driving up along the river I got the sinking feeling I'g be swimming to the cabin.  Luckily I still have about a foot and a half of vertical before my feet would get wet.  No way in hell id be out on that ice.

No doubt.  It only looks to be a couple inches thick and there's all sorts of sun hitting it the next few days.

Continues to open up.  Open from marina past Fowler to north of the Island. Narrows mostly open.  All gone by Friday I think.

i got a call today that one of the docks was trying to escape.  Luckily one of the other guys was able to get up there and tie a line to it.  I guess there was only a few inches of pipe holding it in place.  I think it is normally secured by around 4 other pipes.  I think we'll be replacing some pipes this year! If he hadn't been able to get up,  I would have been making the trip up.  I'm glad I didn't have to go looking for it down the river.

I was on schroon on Sunday in my bass boat. Water temps were 43 everywhere on the lake pretty much. Not a sign of ice anywhere. Not even the back bays... so no, there isn’t any ice on north schroon yet... but there will be starting Tuesday night.

Ice on some edges, up by the marina looks to have some ice.  We'll see what happens tonight.  10* 2pm and dropping.  If wind dies down.....

Could someone tell me whether access to southern Schroon is available through Eagle Point or Scaroon Manor campgrounds during the winter?  Is there parking available?

I believe they close Eagle Point down in lieu of blowing once the snow gets bad. I may be wrong though

A very cold night last night was wasted by a sharp breeze all night.  Tonight going down near 0  but a 8-11 mph west wind is forecast.  :%$#!:

Accessible from both in winter, with parking.
