Mallett's Bay pressure cracks?
« on: Mar 08, 2019, 08:26 AM »
Hi Everyone,  Perchbait and I are thinking of fishing outer Mallett's Bay this weekend, but haven't been on it yet this year.  How and where are the pressure cracks in the outer bay?  How far south can we get if we get on at Sandbar?

Thanks!

I was out off of Robinson point 3 weeks ago. The pressure crack ran from the Causeway side of Roobinson point east/west across the bay as far as I could see. There was a crossable gap in the pressure crack about 40 yds off of the South Hero shore that I dragged my sled across. It was easily big enough for a wheeler to fit through and the ice was solid back then.  I know this isn't the most up to date info so take it for what it is.

Thanks for the update!  We'll be coming from the islands, so wanted to see how far we could get coming in that way.
