Every year we see a bunch of threads about trash and such left on the ice.

Once again I'd like to suggest that we all "Take The Pledge" to carry a trash bag with us when we go on the ice..... for our own and what we find from others.

What an outstanding example to set!

Repeat after me;

I promise to take a garbage bag with me on the ice and to pick up any trash I see.

Amen! Never ceases to amaze me how a handful of people can ruin things for others by leaving crap all over the place. This includes parking lots. No wonder access to lakes is getting more and more limited.

I swear to bring and take trash with me.

I always keep 2-3 plastic grocery bags with me. They pack extremely small. Absolutely unacceptable for ANYONE to leave trash anywhere but the trash can.

Also being a smoker, I save my plastic tube containers from mousies/spikes for cigarette butts.

I 've been bring home ice garbage for years.the ones that leave it are not sportsmen.we have to take care of are lakes and streams so we can all enjoy.

I promise. I'm always picking up other peoples trash as well. Here's something I saw years ago I think in a magazine. If you can still find those old film canisters a roll of 35mm film came in. Grab one.
Take a plastic Walmart or Grocery bag and start stuffing it in the canister. I can fit two in the canister and that way you always have them with you in a small confined space that fits nicely anywhere basically!
