These fish appeared in our lake a couple of years ago. We only catch them while ice-fishing. I think it is a white fish but am not sure.

I've fished Otisco a lot as well and caught numerous of these shinners.

I gave mine to a guy who was using tip up's for tiger muskie's ;D

At first I thought it may be a white sucker but I was told different by another fisherman.

I think someone put these in the lake from dumping out their bait bucket. DEC hasn't stocked anything in this lake since 1970. Thanks everyone.

We have a good population of those in my home lake. I've caught a few up to 13". I'd say if you fished that lake during the summer with down sized panfish gear, you'd probably catch a few in the shallow weedy areas. When they school up the in shallows during early summer I can catch as many as I want using a minnow hook and a piece of marshmellow.  GREAT BAIT!

Thats a Dandy Golden Shiner they put up a decent fight as well :) great pike bait and great too put into your farm pond :) Ive always had better luck getting numbers of them at late ice ussually throw em in a bucket of water and put them in the pond. Also get one every once in awhile crappie fishing at night.
