It's a beautiful day, the sun is shining, there is no wind, and still there are several people sitting in front of their computer!  As for me, I'm on my way out to the ice. ;D ;D ;D ;D

I wasn't able to get out because of some family things that needed to be attended to.  However tommorrow, I will be out all day.

Just got in from fishing.  Caught a few perch and a pickerel a guy fishing next to me didn't want.  I had to come in 'cause of that toilet etiquette thing....Life is better now  ::) ::) ::)

Fishing took a back seat to tennis this morning. Besides there's no ice I'd call safe around here and the boat is put up for the winter.

     Well let's see, Went to Gander to stock up, no ice around Rochester. Going up north next weekend. Got some forage minnows and Hali's and new dropper chains, the ones bigredonice suggested. I like his info alot. Ice chaps 'cause I'm sick of getting a soaker when I kneel or drill with the old '54 Jiffy, some flourocarbon P-line, some split shots, red #6 hooks and a couple new Plano's to organize all my crap better. Oh yeah, got my Thompson Hawken back from my buddy that met me there. Went down with the wife and my son to Ibay outlet and counted 13 boats around the channel markers(perchin'). Saw some Oldsquaw ducks, don't see them often around here! Good day for no ice fishing! ;) ;D :tipup: :tipup:

It's raining cats and dogs right now outside and I'm getting ready to have the wife help me put together a power point presentation for an aquaculture meeting. Although we haven't had ice for at least 3 weeks I did do some open water fishing yesterday in one of my ponds. I was using slip bobbers set at about 7 feet and mostly beehmoths. Got about 7 bluegills up to only 8 1/2 inches and one slob yellow perch of 1 lb. 15 oz. and 14 1/2 inches on a board. It was the next best thing to icefishing but it's not the same!  :'( :'( :'(

yeah, i fished all day yesterday and today is bill day :'( pay them now so i can see how much gas money i have to travel to fish next weekend :tipup: i hate the end of the month, although with this january weather im glad this one is ending :tipup:

id go crappie fishing at night but fishing alone in the dark on so so ice is not safe :(

I got out both days this past weekend, resulting in a 33 in, ~8lb northern on Saturday, and a 27 in pike on Sun.  Combined with a handful of perch, it made for a slow, but productive couple of outings.  I'm at work, today, but I think i feel a vague, and non specific illness starting to come on ;)  Might just have rest up on the ice this afternoon.

i'm chairman for the case lake ice fishing derby and there is just to much to get done so that it is a success this year if the weather will start to cooperate. :tipup:
