Good evening hope everyone had a nice Memorial Day. Relaxing day for me watched the NCAA Men's Div.1 lacrosse championship final in the early afternoon then went to house and did a little yard work. The teams in this years final were Yale and Duke, Yale won the game for it's first NCAA men's lacrosse championship a young man from my area is a member of championship team.
Tom Turkey may you get a turkey before season ends be nice to have a wild turkey for Christmas since you son has taken care of Thanksgiving.
Ice Wanderer if problems continue with my computer might have to take it in for a cleaning .
Wallyworld I've finished with the antibiotic and Prednisone feel better have to go for evaluation later this week. Thank you for the well wishes. Good to hear wood pile is stocked for next Winter.
IFF I wonder what structure or food source was keeping the walleyes confined to that particular section of the lake.
Whopper Stopper may you come through any storms problem free. Looks like Crown Royal and Cherry Coke is becoming the official (:45 cocktail.
Icefisher-45 may you pass all the employment tests and start work in early June.
Eddie have a safe journey home. How was the vacation.
Ditto Wallyworld's words about this day .

Marv.......May the storms miss your area.
Steve......I think the Gremlins are running wild through the internet. :woot:
Bud.........Thanks for the rules in your area, every state has different quotas and lengths to keep fish!
Not much going on today, no therapy until Thursday this week because of the holiday the schedule was full. I still do most of the
exercises at home so it's not likre they are  not going to get done. ::)

Good Morning IW! Good Morning Everyone

Another mid 90's today, this will be our 7th ninety so far this June. Last nights storms did some damage north of me, but it skirted our area. Probably because I put my tomato plants in the garage.

This story is about one of the lakes I fish in the winter. This has really stirred up everyone

https://www.twincities.com/2018/05/26/abandoned-net-of-67-dead-walleye-on-lake-mille-lacs-angers-conservation-group/

I was going to start washing the house today but it's just too sticky for that project. I am going to have the wife drop me up the road 4 miles, it's time to get into a walking routine.

Hope you all have an excellent day no matter what's on the agenda  As always stay safe!

Good Morning ER's  Had Thunder Storms charge threw the area, got hammered a bit with the hail. Pea to 1" sized.  I should have like Marv left the tomato plants in the garage.  See I had a plastic toggle switch got broken, on the boat, so got a metal one, to replace it with, was a bit of a wrestling match to get the panel moved but I won.  Watched the Rockies out last the Giants to remain in first place in the 10 inning affair.

Marv, BTW, its still May.  But like your idea its June already, makes it closer to Ice season and  :icefish: Will have to check out your link.

Not sure what is in store for us at work today.  Might be more of the go help at the other stores.

Coffee is on, enjoy your day.

I sure am glad my wife didn't see that I was thinking it was June. She has bought me many of these watches over the years for that very reason ???

Good morning fellow 9:45ers things look better outside currently then they did earlier in the morning skies have cleared think it is going to be a sunny day with high temperature of near ninety.Headed over to the house in a little while have to take apart a small Rubber Made storage shed my town now requires a permit for all sheds regardless of their size. The property had 3 of these small sheds to store the snow blower, lawn mower and gardening tools. We purchased the sheds over years since at one time the town require a permit for any storage shed with an 8 feet x 10 feet or larger size. When my paretns, sister and I all lived in the house single car garage space was converted into a family room with a half bathroom eventually added to the space. There is a small amount of original garage space left for storage. I have to get two permits to have all home improvements legal one for the garage and other for front entrance which was enclosed at 450.00per permit my sister said get rid of the sheds.
Ice Wanderer are they doctors/therapist having you preform exercise routine up to your surgery date. Mealworm will have his hands full between filling firewood orders and all the other property management chores.
IFF glad you made it through the storm without any damage from the hail. May stock for your store arrive soon so it is not a mad rush before scheduled opening date.
Whopper Stopper it is easy to loose track of dates when your not working Also like me you remember when Memorial Day was on the 30TH of May instead of last Monday of the month to create a 3 day holiday weekend. Be careful starting any exercise routine in the higher temperatures probably best to walk in the morning or evening when it should be cooler. IF needed go to nearest large store and walk there to take advantage of air conditioning.
Guessing Eddie is Still in Las Vegas  or was pressed for time this Morning so we wait for report on his vacation.

Have a safe and good Tuesday. Best to Tom Turkey on his gobbler hunt and everyone fishing.

Afternoon all,

IFF.....that's quite the picture  :o :o  hope the tomato plants survived ok

WS.....May June what's a couple days here or there among friends right  ??? :roflmao:  it's one of the toughest parts of not working, never knowing what day of the week it is  ;D  don't worry, your little oops is safe with us   :woot:  that was an interesting article, one of the local lakes here (Oneida Lake) that the DEC nets walleye to strip lost about the same amount in one of their nets this spring  :(  the wind was so strong from an unusual direction the anchors on the net got jostled loose and the net twisted trapping what they say were 67 walleye, being the winds were so bad it was too dangerous to send the boats out to pull the nets that day   unfortunately, tho they tried, the eggs were ruined & the fish couldn't be revived once they finally got the net pulled  :'(

IW.....100 cords  :o  :flex:   makes my back ache just thinking about it  ;D I hope MW has a wood processor  :)  it's going to take a week for all the scrapes, scratches, bumps & bruises to mend from our little 20 face cord gig  ::)

IF45....hope the paperwork and testing goes smoothly & you're back to work soon  :)

MrC.....glad you're feeling better   that's some money making scheme your town has going :%$#!:   out here the only thing that you pay for is a permanent building which raises your property value so your tax bill increases and of course you pay for a building permit too  ::)

H2L....hope you had a better turn out for your garage sale over the weekend  :)

It's been another toasty day here today, upper 80s and bright sunshine  @)  Made a couple strawberry rhubarb pies yesterday, one for us & one for a friend
couldn't wait for it to cool so the first pieces out were a bit runny   set up nicely once it cooled tho

Heading to camp later for a couple days to see what the walleye are up to now that the weekend crowd is gone

Have a good evening whatever's on tap. Stay safe.

                    Good morning ER's,
It's 58* and clear here on my hill this morning with another nice day in the forecast. I sat out on my deck yesterday for a while
and got some sunburn, but not too much! ::)
Wally.........Yes MW has a wood processor, he can cut, split and have a cord in his dump truck in 40 minutes, the delivery time is
what slows him down, but he has done 8 cords in one day. :flex: Nice looking pie.
Marv.........I would think pressure washing your house on a humid day would cool you down by getting sprayed from the washer. ::)
Bud..........I'm sorry to hear about you tomato plants. :(
Steve.......Around here we can build or buy a shed that is under 12'x12' without getting a building permit. I actually have
a therapy appointment two days before my surgery. ::)
Not much going on here today, my wife might leave to visit her mother and then attend her granddaughters graduation on Friday.
I hope everyone has a good Wednesday, Hump Day either at work or out fishing!

Good morning IW, WW (I saw you in the hallway)! Good Morning Everyone

67 heading to only 80 today  Our old buddy Les Humid is coming for a short visit tomorrow

IW you have the perfect porch to sit on. I could have just as well started washing the house. I found a good deal on a hedge trimmer so I spent the day doing the shrubs and arborvitaes. By the time I finished I was soaking wet anyway.

WW your strawberry rhubarb pie looked awesome  Good luck with the walleyes

Eddie did you take a flight to Switzerland to set up an account with your winnings ???

mr.clean hope all goes well with the paper work for the sheds. Hope taking down the Rubber Made went well.

Not sure what's on the agenda today but going for a walk at first light.

Hope everyone has an excellent day  Above all else sty safe.

I will try to post again this morning as the long post I tried to make yesterday after getting home got ate up by the gremlins.

I did finally fill my turkey tag yesterday. When I went to get my bill fold out it was gone so I lost some where on my first set up in the woods. I went back and looked but could not find it so I had to go get a replacement tag to put on the turkey. On the first set up the tom came through out of range so I let it go.

When I was going to another place I noticed a bunch of birds across the road from my property so I drove in my gate and hid my van. As I eased out on the power line the turkeys had already made it with in range. The long beard did not give me a shot so I ended up taking a jake.

Replacing my drivers license was a pain as it took an hour before I was called up. Now I told I have to come back with my birth certificate to get another new license as this one is not good enough with out them seeing my birth certificate. I had to show them my birth certificate when I got my first license back in 1959 but that is not good enough. Now to figure out what else was in my bill fold.

In Michigan you can build a 200 SF shed with out a building permit. You do have to have a zoning permit. We have a big pole barn at the lake that has a cease work order on it as it is 7 feet too tall. The roof and part of the siding is on so it will not be an easy fix. The owner is supposedly going to sue the township and county.

As far as I am concerned is a lot of these permits are so they can add onto your taxes. I got a permit to put an addition on my house so as expected my taxes went up. I went to the board of review and kept asking them if I built. They kept saying "You bought a permit" repeatedly. Then I asked them If I built it "what is it." One open room or an expensive kitchen. They could not answer that either. They finally got out my permit and looked at the cost of the permit. They were appraising off of the cost the building inspector charged me for the permit. I asked him when the building inspector became a licensed appraiser. No answer to that either. I got a 10% cut in the appraisal for one year.

When I left there I went right to the building inspectors office to tell him what was going on. He recognized my voice when I asked if he was in and told me to come in to his office. He was mad when I  told him what was going on and told his secretary to black out the cost of the permits that was sent to the townships. He fixed that problem

ww That strawberry rhubarb pie sounds good. I have not had one in years.

We are guessed to get some rain today and tomorrow from that tropical storm but the last I looked in the middle of the night it was all way south. We need the rain so I hope the guessers are not wrong like they are so much of the time.

I have to go apply for a bear permit today so I do not miss the application period. I probably will not have enough points to draw while I am able to still hunt them but if and when I do draw I can gift the tag to a youngster.

Got on the lake today. It was hot, not so much the bite. Did get 1 SMB and 5 walleyes. All the walleyes were over 15" and one was just over 17". Only had one other hit. They were tight to the bottom in 34 fow and the hits were very light. It was great to be on the water again...h2l

Graduation for the grandson tonight. The daughter is down at the football stadium right now reserving seats for all of us. There is quite a crew of us that are going. I am not looking forward to the drive home as I take the backroads to get w away from the construction.

I got the front yard mowed yesterday. When the first rain hit I realized that I had left the mower out as I planed on starting on the back yard when it cooled off some. While getting the mower in the  garage I realized there were two pedestal fans sitting on the deck that I had taken out of the garage so I hurried and rescued them. I have no guess as to how much rain we got out of that tropical storm coming from the gulf but I do not think it was that much.

The wife went to a Lake Assn board meeting Tuesday night. She educated a lot of them on how well she did things when she was secretary treasurer. They found out she knows how to get things done as they thought it was going to take months to get the permit to trap the muskrats rats and she did it in less than a week at no cost where they thought it was going to cost big $$$. They are having difficulties with some other financial issues that should be simple to fix. There was another member there that is well educated in water quality that she said was nodding his head yes when she educated them on a lot of things. This is the same guy that told me a long time ago that the board has no clue what they are doing.

Eddie I thought that maybe you pawned your Ipad to cover your losses.

Congrats on the new job I-45.

Glad you had a good time Eddie. I was beginning to think, we might have to take up a collection to get you home. The wife has been a couple times and says it is great. I usually don't do crowds of over 5 people...lol.

WW. that is a good day. I think by best walleye last year was about 20. You don't see a lot of big fish come out of this lake. I know they are here. Maybe this year, just hope I have a camera with me if it happens. It was pretty warm out there yesterday. I guess I can't take the heat anymore.

Have good day and good luck to those on the water...h2l

Good Evening,

Well almost Steve, those trucks are for the Camping World Stores, not the Gander Outdoors.  My guess once the stores that are Open in the other states, are fully stocked it will be our turn, once the vender's/supply companies catch up.  If like in the past we get supplied with our fixtures, it will be a crash program of about 4 days, for the fixtures, and another 10-15 days to get merchandise displayed.

WTG WW,     like the pictures.

68 and cloudy. Had some rain overnight..
WW, that is a good looking walleye. Glad you are into some fish. It is only going to get better.
The youngest daughter left work yesterday in a lot of pain. This morning they are removing her appendix. Wife was going to leave this morning to visit her sister in Rochester. I guess that will be put off for a few days.
Hope everyone is doing fine and have a great weekend. Be safe....h2l

The graduation went great other than having to get there way early to find a place to park which made a long time setting. At least Les Humid got here and the temperature was only in the 80's instead of the middle 90's. The school is rated in the top 100 schools in the nation and I agree with that as they were the ones that realized that the middle grandson had a problem.  They diagnosed him as having Asperger's syndrome.

I was surprised that the daughters ex showed up as he did not come to the other two kids graduations. When the daughter told the graduate he should go to talk to his dad, he had an OH NO look on his face as he has no use for his dad. The boy has some issues that I believe are caused by some thing his dad did.

OH Guess what I found when I was putting away my turkey calls. For some reason I had put it in my turkey vest when I opened up the van with the spare key in it when I  got back from the first set. I generally leave the regular set of keys in the car as I do not want to lose them. I can only blame it on OLD TIMERS disease.

We only have time for one day, Saturday, of our lake wide yard sales. it is going to make for a lot of work or only one day of selling. The board will not spend $10.OO to advertize the sales in the local paper. It is punishment for not giving them the dues raise they wanted that went to far. Now they are also putting regulations on how we can put signs of our own in the assn. to allow people to find the sales. Vindictive bunch on the board.

I hope Les Hunmid makes it's way to every one on IS as it sure is nice to have him/her here. Only in the middle 70's for the next few days.

H2l I hope that the daughters surgery goes well and the get it out before it ruptures.  I still have mine aong with my toncils.
