and wanted to plan a bucket list laker trip where would be the closest place to go?? I get a month of vacation next year and need to fill some days off. besides elk and deer. and a walleye trip.

Flaming Gorge, Ft. Peck, Pactola res Canada

Doing a little research myself. thinking maybe Granby next year.

Come to Alaska plenty of big trophy lakers and burbot plus it's actually cheaper to fly to Alaska in the winter than any other time of year. I could line you out if you wanted to make the trip and set you up for success.

Akhardwater.......is that an invite?

I invite anyone to come up and fish. This place is truly magical in the winter and everyone should experience it at least once.

When would be the best time to come? Obviously would be limited on what could bring on plane. Where fly into?

Right now is actually the best time unfortunately, another option would be late spring when the burbot spawn. This useally happens around the first week of April and is actually the best time in my opinion to be in Alaska. Lots of daylight no bugs, bears, and tourists and it can get close to 80 degrees in the sun, 20 degrees in the shade. It's -30 at the lake right now so unless you have some real good arctic gear I wouldn't advise coming up right now. If your really serious about coming up pm me and I can help you out with the details.
