Title: where is there ice?
Post by: pikeman80 on Jan 15, 2008, 12:07 PM
I am looking to get out on the ice tommorow for some pike action.....question is where is there any ice? Are any of the coves of ct river fishable? Bantam or Quaddick maybe?

Bantam's south bay should be good to go.  A few feet of the edges might be sketch.  Nothing a plank can't take care of.  But then again, the only way to really find out if a place is safe, is to find out for yourself.  Sad but true, especially when you live an hour drive from productive lakes like me.

I'd forget about the river for another week... The river in Hartford came up about 10 feet higher than normal over the weekend. It's dropping fast but the edges on the coves are shot. We won't know how much ice is left on them for a couple more days
