Well the pond in the front yard looked pretty hard yesterday when i got done respooling, so i punched a few holes with the pick axe, sure enough a good hard 4" of ice!! Ran back to the barn, grabbed a rod, bait and the vex of course and caught the first hard water fish of the year! Gonna go out saturday in the never ending search of hard lakes, and hopefully get in some 1st ice crappie fishing, on one of my BEST crappie lakes EVER!! If i cant get on any lakes saturday, then sunday im heading to the other side of town to some little channels to set some tip ups for pike!! SO either way I AM getting on the ice this weekend!
