If only ordering spikes go ahead. If ordering waxies I like to wait until I'm closer to using them since they don't store as well for me. I don't wait too long and this year who knows how things will go. I'm usually on ice by January 1 sometimes the week before. Ordering about the 15th this year.

You can get spikes whenever..they last forever when stored dormant in the coldest part of the fridge.i still have some from last December.i just switch out the bedding a few times.this is my batch that is a year old now.waxworms take more maintenance and need to be kept at warmer temps than the fridge.

I ordered my waxies already, they coming this week, hope i can keep them for the time we get ice. I'll be hunting for ice this weekend anyway.
