Trip to central MI
« on: Dec 05, 2014, 03:03 AM »
I'm looking to make a trip up to central MI looking for some decent ice here in the next couple weeks. Just looking for some recommendations as to where I should go. Ive never fished central MI but I've heard you guys are already getting decent ice. I mainly fish for crappie and walleye. Sitting here in Northern IN with no ice and I'm getting very antsy ;D I'd even be willing to meet up with someone and fish. Its always nice to meet new fishin buddies!! Best of luck  :icefish:

Very little ice in the mitten. Mid mich won't be getting safe ice for a while. Gunna have to head farther north in the LP like Houghton Lake/Gaylord area..

Not really sure where you'll find any good inland walleye lakes, but crappie fishing is pretty good in Ionia county

My neighbor was out quite a ways on west side of Mitchell yesterday & had 4-6" everywhere he checked & had a few crappies.
